and why...

I’m not too fond of Georgia, guess, mainly cuz I grew up here and I’ve had enough time to see all I want to see of this place.

Where would you like to live?

Me… Wyoming on about 10,000 acres in a nice log cabin on a lake with my own floatplane, maybe a PC-12 and a nice 3 or 4,000 ft strip.

The south is just so **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** hot, it got up to 97 degree here today, and humidity was something like 190% had a heat index of 187 in the shade.

No sense in running the a/c unless you like to spend all day two inches from the vent on the floor with the cats, nice to know the power companies jack up the rates as well.

God I Hate The South…

Never want to leave

I'm afraid I will have to disagree and stick up for the south. I really never want to live anywhere other than the south (Nashville specifically). I'd rather be hot most of the year than be freezing up north. Foods good, people are generally friendly and the scenery is gorgeous. Although I will say that the southwest is really pretty along with the Seattle area.

Go Titans

Jersey!!!! I really don't like Jersey.

I think Maine is great. Definitely too cold in the winter. But the scenery and all the light houses make a great setting.

I think North or South Carolina would be good too. Wherever I wind up, It has to be by the ocean. I could never live inland.

I don't hate any state. I even found something to like about Jersey. Not much, but some parts of south Jersey are somewhat clean.

As for a state that I wouldn't want to live in, well I don't want to live anywhere that gets colder than 32F more than a couple of times per year. That sort of eliminates upstate NY, new england, PA, Ohio, Michigan, WI, Minnesota, North Dakota, and most of Montana. Other than that, I can find a good homeplace almost anywhere.

I do not like NJ all that much - (although Garden State Mall is "a" nice):D :D - Just seems like too many people, too many buildings that are too close to each other.

I like CA alot- La Jolla , San Diego area the most. Malibu & Venice are also nice with regards to the "sights":p

The state I dislike the most is Missouri. I was out there for a week in early june and met enough people to scare me (they made rural west virginians look civilized).

My fav state has got to be Virginia(Christiansville area)/North Carolina. Cant beat the trees the mountains and the blue ridge parkway :D

Worst.....CALIFORNIA!!!!!!!

Especially after reading Monday's USAtoday. Guess which state ranked WORST in fiscal manangement?

Wyoming's pretty and has no state income tax. Might have to retire up there.

Now that's really funny.

I started reading this post and was ready to chime in about Missouri, but you beat me to it.

To be fair, KC and St. Louis have a pretty fair share of midwestern hotties and there are quite a few sprinkled in all around the state. But the walking dead in my town (moved here for a job that no longer exists, and bought a house in a place where the market bottom dropped out) really do scare me.

No where else, never in my life have I seen so many overweight, crack-addicted, chain-smoking zombies in my life. I mean it. It's depressing. I see so many people here with NO VISIBLE LIFE in their eyes, I swear I'm this is a stopping-off point on the way to hell!

It's strange to see. You can't even imagine it, you must see it first-hand. SCARY. STAY AWAY. Move somewhere beautiful like Colorado or Montana or Washington or Oregon.

I'd give my entire sack for the chance to move back to Denver (even better, to a small, upcoming mountain town like Steamboat Springs.)

(North of) Kansas Chitty Misery.

I am getting dizzy also.

How much instrument time do you have? 7K?

I hate NJ. Any state you cant pump your own gas is screwed up.

I also hate the deep south, too freakin hot. Sure the sights are good but they aint got nothing between the ears.

The part of missouri I was in was springfield area. STL seemed nice (at least from what i saw of the airport connecting back it did). My friend lives south of sgf in a town called nixa, and he was in with the "rural" crowd which made me not want to leave downtown denver for a week after I got back. The nice thing was Branson was at least somewhat civilized.

Just spent another weekend in Wyoming. Hope you all like the wind. I simply cannot believe the consistency and the ferocity with which the wind blows up there. All year long, occasionally punctuated by snow and/or rain. Pretty, but your eyes are too squinty to see anything.

In most Wyoming FBO's and Terminal buidings you can find a photograph of the "Wyoming Wind Sock." It's a photo of a cinderblock haging straight out off a steel link chain attached to a steel pole.

It ain't no joke.

Maryland- Crappiest food and citizens who make Rudolph Hess look like a comedian. And don't forget "The Bay". Right, a polluted cesspool flushing to the Atlantic.

Hate: Oklahoma. Flat and treeless. Fat, toothless, greasy, chainsmoking nasty-assed women. Unmercifully hot in the summer, ridiculously windy and cold in the winter, but no snow, just paralyzing ice storms.

Love: Hawaii. No wet suits, the best food anywhere (although New Orleans rivals the pacific rim fare here). Best surf in the US. Fine looking brown girls wearing nearly nothing year-round. Deicing? What's that? No heating or air conditioning required. Not even in Florida can one golf in comfort 365 days/year. I could go on and on.....

Ohio

I gotta chime in with Ohio. As a guy who was raised in eastern WA, I guess I got a little spoiled with the good scenery, nice weather, and decent looking women. All of the previously mentioned are non-exisitent in Ohio. I guess I really am just a west coast kind of guy.

Regards,
FlyWest

Maryland and the Crab eaters make those women in Oklahoma look like beauty queens. Ask a Maryland native why the food taste like crap and they babble a mono tone dissertation about the exquisite crab cakes. Easily causes a intelligent person to puke if you didn't think the Maryland genius might eat it while in sight.

Does DC count? (not a state).
I mean DC sucks big time. Nothing to do, people are disgusting wastes of life. Weather sucks. Such a drab, sorry city.

But going out of town to the blue ridge mountains in VA was nice for the weekend.

Living in south Florida now, I love it! Only thing i don't like is that it's flat as a pancake but the weather/chicks/bars/reataurants/beaches more than make up for it.
Yo te amo, Florida!
