AHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA

Small Non Jet captain living in CT $69,024!!! wooooooooooo...
time to go clean my shorts.

WOO HOO! I'm actually well above the 75% range they show for my job!!!!!!

Yeah, Programming IV (I assume the IV means years in the industry? There is no VI...) shows that I'm at the upper end too for my area.

Maybe small jet operators are just liars about their incomes! :D

HA! I have never laughed this hard!

I could double what I am going to make this year and still not make thier 25th Percentile.

The median expected salary for a typical Co-Pilot (Small Jet) in Memphis, TN is $63,807

Whatever they're smokin' I want some!

That's nothin'. A 767 International FO at the world's largest airline makes $78k gross in Chicago, thanks to the panic'd concessions of the his union. Just think, you have this to look forward to at the majors.

What the **** is that site all about?????

According to that site, a flight instructor in my area has a median salary of $80K!!!!!!

I wonder what FBO that is, because I never broke $12k!!!!

Whoever runs that website knows almost as much about the airlines as Robert Hager and Miles O'Brien do. :D

(Jeezus, I wish I made that much!)

ROFLMAO! rediculous :D
I love how it says as of june 2003 and the front page is base pay only...add in the benefits and bonuses!

This website was posted before, or at least the one that was posted before uses the same source of data.

For the CFI, notice the description, especially the last sentence:

"Instructs student pilots in flight procedures and techniques in ground school courses and flight training. Prepares lesson plans. Evaluates and monitors students performance. This position is typically is represented by a senior level pilot. The compensation data does NOT reflect salaries of flight instructors from smaller local flight schools who typically work on an hourly basis and consider the accumulation of airtime the highest priority in their respective careers."

However, I really don't know what flight schools they got their data from though!!! Because I don't know of any that will pay that much for primary students... My guess is that they ask random schools, get an hourly rate and use an assumption of hours a day - 5 days a week all year round.

It's also because of sites like this and medias who get the data from them that most people in the country believe that we are over paid. Just last week I had a classmate asking me why I'm taking economics if I'm a flight instructor, because "pilots make bug bucks" he said! I can't wait for a realistic video on the news some day, if that will ever happen.

Job Description Co-Pilot (Large Jet): Assists captain of the aircraft (larger than 12,500 pounds at takeoff) with flight duties. Assists captain in determining flight routes, speed, and take off and landing times to fulfill scheduling requirements. Must stay current with federal and local flight regulations. Must be capable of taking full control of aircraft while in flight. Possesses FAA pilot certificate with necessary type ratings

They got me wrong as well... in the engineering field which I've worked in for 3 yrs now I'm about 30% over what they report. Interesting because where I live (near bay area of CA) has a big impact on salaries because of the cost of living here (heck, MOST CFIs who freelance in the area charge $35-40/hr and up).
