I interviewed at CHQ Dec 7th and was offered Dec 20th class. Not enough notice time, so I'm in the January 5th class. Given the state of the industry right now (US Airways in particular), I hope to God that I make it to the class! :)

...which is why you NEVER turn down the first date offered!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eagle is currently hiring into a pool. I was interviewed Dec 2nd and put into a pool. No class date yet, but likely in late Feb. or March.

I took a class two weeks later so that I didn't burn a bridge at my old employer. That is something that you NEVER do! Also, if I get furloughed because of US Air, it won't because I went to class two weeks later! Those guys will be gone too.

OK, you got me there and your right, don't burn any bridges. However, you'll find that its all about timing and seniority in this business.

Getting back to the original Q: Skyway puts you in a hiring pool. I jumped into that pool in Aug, got tired of treading water waiting on Delta to get its act together, and now fly for XJet...

I believe most places use the pool concept.
