In my CubCrafters Carbon Cub FX-3 I was told to use Aeroshell 15w50 and no need for camguard. A friend not long ago told me he prefers Philips over Aeroshell. I just posted a video about doing an oil change in my FX-3 and got some good comments. So now I'm curious what to use for oil and also whether or not the gasket on the oil filter should be lubed first and if so with what.

Please share your opinions on what to use and why.

I think a key element in the above equation is Continental vs. Lycoming. I'm no expert at any of this but it appears CubCrafters guidance at least is Philips for their Continental engines and Aeroshell for the FX-3's Lycomings.
