I just passed 1000TT and have 130 multi. It's taken me 4 long years to get. I work 3 jobs and instruct after work and on weekends. I realize that some airlines' minimums are 1000/100, but I just can't see my chances with the competition right now. Sure I'm going to apply to the airlines, but are there any more REALISTIC options out there for me?

I would also look at corporate and charter outfits in your area. Don't limit yourself to the airlines as there are many other options available.

Get another 120 multi and 1000 tt and call me in the morning...

What Now?

Keep plugging...you'll get it!

Hold your head up high. Some guys throw in the towel at 300 hrs and give companies like gulfstream thousands so they can get time.

Like FN FAL said, keep working hard, it will pay off.

If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

Probably one of the best ways to build some time is with a 135 job. With the industry the way it is right now, you'll probably have to fly piston twins for a while. You probably won't make much money, but you should build time fairly quickly. Try finding a job flying checks or something. Those jobs are usually scheduled, so you can maybe have a part time job to help support yourself. If you've put forth that much effort to fly, by all means don't give up now.

I'll second the 135 idea. You are really close to 135 mins, and places like Flight Express will hre you right at mins. You'll be surprised how fast the logbook grows when you start flying 120 hours per month.

DONT STOP FLYING!

Send out the resume and follow up. Don't just blindly send it out though. Make sure that it is a quality company that you would want to work for. Plus, also make sure that you may actually have a chance of getting hired by.

Ditto what everyone else has said in the thread. Keep your head up, keep flying, and something will give eventually.

Another thing to keep in mind; just because some ads have published minimums higher than say 135 mins, doesn't mean they won't hire with less.

For example, our company commonly posts job notices with something like 2,500 TT with 135 experience- 3,500 TT without. But then they turned around recently and hired a guy with only 2,000 hours total time and that time was all CFI time.

If you see a 135 ad and you have 135 mins met and they post higher than FAA required for the job...send the resume in anyway. It can't hurt anything.
