What is up with ABEX?

Hey all,

Quick question.......how is ABEX doing these days? Any furloughs ongoing.........company making any $$$...........hiring forecast any time in the next several years?

Just havent heard much about them recently........which is probably a good thing!!

In this case, no news is not good news. We currently have 42 on furlough with rumors of 16 or so more in the coming months. There have also been large numbers of surplusing in position and equipment (I went from the 767 to the DC9 just a couple of months ago).

We are one full year into contract negotiations with zero articles yet signed off. The last time the two sides met was last spring and only in the last week or so have dates been set to resume in November.

The economy is also a factor affecting the loads and type of freight (ground vs express).
