My company issues us the good ole ipads with Jepp charts and all of our company manuals with a copy of the aircraft AFM. Been using it for 3 years and never had a problem.
 
Generally I prefer Android to IOS for my personal use, but there can be no doubt that for aviation software and aviation mounts the iPad is the best supported by far.

It is worth noting that only the models with cellular data (3G/4G) have built in GPS capability.
 
iPad/iPad mini with elf or another external GPS is the best you're gonna get. Add stratus and you have everything you need
 
Jeppview is now supported on Samsung Galaxy tablets. I think, more bang for the buck.
 
We just switched to iPad minis. They receive the GPS through our heated windshields without external.
