Where is training held? What is your pay? Do you have your own room and what kind of hotel do they put you in? Do you have weekends off? And lastly how long does training last? Thanks

2 Weeks CMH indoc. Type rating at FSI all around the country. 14-21 day course at FSI. Weekends off? Hahaha. Pay is $48k plus per diem. Hotels are nice..I did Marriott in TLH and Hyatt in CMH. They give you one rental car per 2-3 students.

Indoc is held at our Easton facility in Columbus and last 10-11 days. Sim training is done with Flight Safety and location is dependent on which aircraft type you get. Sim training generally lasts 14-24 days, again dependent on which aircraft you get. Pay during training is approximately $1700 every two weeks plus per diem. The company does provide hotel and rental car accomodations. Hope this helps.

Hotel for Indoc was the Staybridge. A/C training was the Hyatt ICT. (18 nights is a good way to start out the Hyatt points)

Did the FO's get a raise? I thought the new hire FO base pay was around $38k. Also, you get normal pay starting on day 1.

What is training like?

To answer your question bigbird, training is like a firehose going off in your face. It is alot of information really fast. They are working on it though.:rolleyes:

Newhires start off on the reserve schedule until they are able to bid over to the 7/7. They get paid $46,000 plus per diem until that time.

26 pay periods per year;
New hire pay is reserve while in training; you can bid 7&7 before but won't actually be put on it until released to IOE.

Year 1 reserve schedule pay is $46,290 / 26 = $1780.38 every 2 wks pre tax;

Year 1 7&7 schedule pay is $39,000 / 26 = $1500 every two wks pre tax;

Per diem is paid at $1.70/hr *24 = $40.80/day, prorated on the first and last day (not taxed).

Hotel is paid for, I was in the Staybridge for both indoc nd FSI. We had 4 / car for indoc and two / car for FSI.

Pay and benefits all start from day 1 of the first company evolution, either indoc or FSI.

I had 2 weeks of indoc, 1 month off and 17 days of FSI initial; off duty now for about two weeks and then back to CMH for review (about 1 week) and then I'll be "relesed to IOE."

Schedule bids are out for May and I already know my schedule for the rest of the year (or beyond if I extend the spread sheet).

Training is training - indoc is company specific stuff, FOM, FARs, all the mando HR stuff, swim, first aid, etc. Show up, stay awake and you'll do fine. FSI is aircraft training; you'll get a CD with the manuals beforehand if you want to study ahead. Show up, be a sponge, know the boldface (memory items) & limits cold, learn the lights and annuciators and you'll pick up the rest in class and in the box.

Hope this helps,
Best of luck,
