Anyone know what happened to Methow Aviation in Washington State? One of their Beech 18s has been parked on the ramp at Paine Field for weeks and they suddenly quit flying the USPS contract from the San Juan Islands where I live. Watching the loaded down "mail plane" take off from KORS was a sight to see some evenings.

I think they lost the contracts in the last few months. The company may have went Tango U if I heard correctly.

Launchpad-

Thats probably safer for everyone. I heard Blair was getting into over the road hauling or something, and not spending too much time or effort with the airline.

simple case of underbidding and not being able to operate the runs...from what I've heard they've been having financial issues for a while... sorry to hear about it, they had a few great guys working for them...

So where is Hans now? He was flying for Methow a few years ago when he checked me out in my 180, but I think he left shortly after that. I heard something about his Beaver going missing in Alaska but that he wasn't flying it at the time.

I don't know who Hans was, I worked for Methow, only for a few of weeks, I'm not too surprised they're done. Of the two Beech operators I worked for they were my second favorite, hence I was only there for a few weeks.

Hans

I don't know Hans, but one of my best friends (Eric) was the pilot who went down with his beaver and a few passengers (hard not to be mad at him). He's got a memorial up in Bellingham this week. I'll ask and see what's up with Hans these days....

Sorry to hear about your loss. Was this local, Pacific NW, or did this happen in Alaska?

happened up in SE AK. Sitka area. He grew up in the NW though...Spokane and Bellingham area.
