To those folks that tried to encourage me. A big thankyou for your pat on the back. No I am not better than any one else and neither are they better than me. I don't have the age to be folling arround. I will beat down doors till I get a yes. I do have under 500 hour pilots willing to do my job for FREE. Drop Zone Owner's love this. They try there best to exploit pilot's need to fly as much as any one else does. No, I haven't put up with a junior pilot trying to kill me. That was my choice and lack of money for the rating. Well thanks again for the encouragement.

T206driver,

I hate to p1ss on your parade, but if you have teenage kids, I suspect you're at least knocking on 40, right? And a guy that age with a whopping 2000 hours and no twin time ain't
exactly a prize as far as most outfits are concerned. Plus, they wonder how you're gonna get
along with the "punk kid" parked in the left seat. As one of the other fellas suggested,
time dropping divers is pretty useless as far as most places are concerned.
And sure, it sucks doing it. UP, DOWN. UP, DOWN. Maybe get yelled at a few times in
between. (Been there.) But, IT IS A DAY AT THE BEACH compared to single pilot IFR Part 135cargo. (Been there, too.) You did come across in your post as having a little bit of an
attitude problem. And hiring managers at airlines pick up on THAT fairly quickly. (Gosh, I've
been THERE, too!!) If you want a crack at a regional (that you'd actually want to work at)
GET an MEI, try and get some 135 multi time.

That "kid" is the one that makes the decisions. And that "kid" that will be your Captain has much more experience than you do. A bad attitude is easy to see and so far yours is showing, You must change that first to get hired.
I would like to see some of you wizz kids do what I do.
Most of them have, that is why they have the experience. (Not withstanding the 500 hour TAB types)
I have also used my job to get the cross-country time I need to fulfill Part 135.243 requirements and stay current!
To stand out you need something more than just staying current. With a schedule you go no matter what the weather is doing. Rain, Ice, Snow, Fog, whatever. When was the last time you shot multible 200 and a half ILS's in one day? That is the IFR they like to see. In the airlines, if it is legal, you are going.

I would recommend that you find a 135 outfit to fly for. It does sound like you lack the IFR experience that will really make you stand out, and I am not talking about the currency crap. I mean the real world seat of the pant decision making that is required on a daily basis, ie. fuel loads, alt airports, go/no go, diverts, radar skills, reroutes, ground stops, last minute on the fly holds, and the always fun Pax or fuel decisions.

I have never seen a freight driver ever bust an employment sim check, I have seen flight instructors and banner tow types not make it through the first five minutes. On the other hand a bad attitude will flame you before you ever get to the sim portion.

10 years ago the competitive requirements to fly for a regional was 2500 TT and 1000 multi. Times have changed a bit now but 2100 and 125 multi does not make you stand out in any way, so you need to find some "look at me" time to add to your experience. Flight instructors and jump pilots MAY get an interview. Charter guys and freight dogs WILL get the interview.
