Looking at the operation at Colgan it is hard for me to imagine Pinnacle keeping things the same. If the company was wildly profitable i don't think the Colgan family would have sold it for such a low price.

WHAT DO YOU THINK THE PLAN IS FOR COLGAN?

PS. THE OTHER THREAD IS ABOUT UNIONIZING

I think, well hope, that pinnacle is planning on getting the q400 that so many airlines are intersted in. With the relationships that colgan already has established with continental, united and usairways there is potential for good growth for pinnacle's shareholders.

Don't hold your breath - Colgan is a whipsaw move, a la BigSky and MAIR.

What does Pinnacle want to do with Colgan? A lot of opinions exist on that one. You can take some lessons from Pinnacle.

In 1997 when Phil Trenary arrived Express Airlines employed outstation basing and ran 33 (plus or minus) turboprops. The pilot group was made up of a very hard base of about 50 pilots who had been at the airline for a number of years. These guys loved the outstation basing. Most of the rest (450) were in various stages of trying to develop a career with the intent of moving on. Within 6 months the outstations were gone and the only base was Memphis....best described as "living hell".

From that moment on the Pinnacle pilots have made great use of the services of ALPA. Some of you may not like ALPA. I am not a real "union lover", BUT, in found that unless we had that collective security, as individual, we were doomed.

ALPA is not perfect, BUT they know airline pilots...know the issues... and have a huge warchest just for the purpose of helping pilots.

I think you can fugetabout the outstation basing. Hope you have good displacement language in your contr..........uh, ok, never mind.

I dont think they have a clue. Just saw a for sale sign took a chance and now they are in Memphis eating some BBQ and asking what The FU did we just do. O well were bigger right so bigger means better

The Colgan's saw a chance to make more money. Just because they sold it doesn't mean they don't still have a huge amount of shares. They saw the sell as an investmenrt since Pinnacle has the capital to increase their revenue!

i think the article said that pinn bought all the stock.

colgan stillowns airplanes and equipment tho

I don't know all the details, I just couldn't see the Colgans not wanting to have some piece of the pie if COLGAN is able to grow overnight!

Pretty obvious that Pinnacle did not buy Colgan, not did Colgan sell to make thier employees and Pilots careers better... no that wasn't on their agenda...
