And as to the question what you can do with an AGI certificate? Well, you can show it to a girl and tell her "Hey baby.... I'm an Advanced ground instructor. Thats right... i said ADVANCED."

Don't forget your FOI test.

If you are not already a CFI, you will need the AGI knowledge test and the FOI knowledge test! Both will need to be shown to the FSDO.

Sweet. I've got the FOI taken care off and the knowlege test report is hidden with the others in my humidor. :D

I'll run 'em up there and see what I can get...my mother works near the Scottsdale FSDO so a noon run and free lunch might be in the cards. :D

<I'm having a vision.....I see....a White Sands Chimichanga from Arriba's being eaten...by me.> :)

Make sure that when you go for your CFI checkride you bring the AGI certificate with you, since it takes the place of your FOI results.

When I took my ride I think the examiner was shocked that someone actually had a ground instructor certificate.

Flechas,
61.189 specifically spells out the records you're required to keep for 3 years - knowledge test endorsement (and the result) is one of them

There's no such regulation regarding ground instructor records....just flight instructor records

Thanks mini, I never got my AGI so I kept ALL the records, you never know when they may come back to you. I have many signatures flying around.

of course...for either your AGI or CFI...whichever comes first

Flechas: Glad I could help...I'm just too flustercucked sometimes to keep THAT many records....as it is I had to design a VERY intricate record keeping system......that my wife monitors

Every day when I come home "did you sign anyone's logbook?" "no dear"

I just keep a copy of all the endorsements I gave in a big file, the only time I had to use it so far was when I took them to the CLE FSDO to renew my CFI. When the inspector saw the pile he just said "don't worry, I believe you have enough".

How's the CFI life mini, liking it so far?

It's okay...there's just something about getting crossed up with a 10 hour student at 400' on the base to final turn with the power to idle and the stall warning horn whaling away...being able to go "yeah...I taught him that" :p

Seriously though....I'm worried about the first solo...I've got a guy that's CLOSE to being ready (if he'd get his medical, take the written and be a bit more confident on the radios, he'd be ready...) but aside from him, the rest of my students are cool...

Only had to do the screaming "MY PLANE" a few times so far...
