I am courious as to what we at ASA will except for a new contract? It seems to me that people are getting nervious about loosing some of our flying and airplanes. Is this because we are asking for to much money, OR because we have a union? I don't think it is about the money. How could it, SKWY already makes more than us anyways. I think there is something else in the works.

What I want (Non TA'ed items)

1. 100% Retro
2. Skywest Rates plus a percentage
3. Scope
4. Duty Rigs
5. Keep our existing aircraft
6. Retirement
7. Skywest to admit we are the lowest operator
8. No more lies from management
9. A resignation from BL and CT
10. The mediator to release us
11. Better paid rampers that will stay and give a darn
12. Lastly, a better contract and better treatment for our lowly paid F/A's.

#3 is what I want. The rest doesn't matter if we don't have an airline.

No offense to them, but I don't care too much about the rampers and FA's at the moment. Everything else in this list looks pretty good.

Don't forget, the goal is not to sign a contract, but to sign a good, fair contract.

#7 would be the highlight of my career. Hopefully in press conferance form.

I want the entire list but would ditch the whole thing for #3/#5.

This is not about money. This is about busting the two Unions at ASA. Jerry is taking this to the conclusion that managment saw years ago.

Throw #1 out...Aint no way you guys are gonna get retro!

There are 741 capt and 717 fo flying the line for sept. Let´s say there are 100 capt in the training dept, for a total of 841 capt.
Now let´s say we negotiate for one list and a signing bonus for all our troubles over the past 4 yrs...
Capts $15,000 x 841 = $12,615,000
Fo $9,000 x 717= $6,453,000
Cost to company = $19,068,000
Now I´m sure this less less than the company has spent in the past four years negotiating....and we get one list out of it with a little something for our troubles.
Want more? Ok how bout $20,000 and $12,000
Total cost to company....$25,424,000 still a drop in the bucket to the company. We live to fight another day.
Is this what I want? Not really, just brain storming.

Okay, maybe I'm just a slow SkyWest pilot, but someone please explain to me how it is in SkyWest's interests to negotiate one list? Don't mean to be rude, and correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't SkyWest, Inc. own your company, lock, stock and barrell?

So they can't use ASA to drive down your work rules and wages, for starters.

Have you been in a hole for the past 5 years? How bout so the company can't use one pilot group against the other to continue to drive down pay, workrules, and QOL? Like EVERY other company that has multiple pilot groups has done in the past 5 years. If you think you are imune because JA is your daddy you are sadly mistaken. It's not if, it's WHEN.

Those all sound fine and dandy but when you do negotiate, DON'T SETTLE FOR LESS!! Bring up the bar don't lower it. If things get ugly be prepared to walk!! If you don't your are equal to Mesa in my book!

Title of the thread is ¨What Do ASA Pilots Really Want¨.....so as an ASA pilot I want one list to Stop the Whipsaw!!!

;)All things were good on that list except for #6. Retirement is a LOST cause! I am not to worried about the "whipsaw" of us and Skywst, because when we get our good contract, if JA does'nt give the same to the Skywst pilots, the UNION will be on property almost over night. The ones to worry about is the other connection carriers. Hopefully Taco and Mesa can get a REAL contract this next time!

I'll take the list minus #1 - insert signing bonus #2 - SKW rate for CR2 w/ current CR7/9 w/ performance plus #6 - enhanced 401K match

Works for me...

Then you must like to get screwed on a daily basis? We MUST HAVE #1 to make them PAY for all of this BS!! Without it, I say we WALK!!!!!!!

Tcat, if you actually believe that we will gett 100% retro then you really did ride the short bus to school. A signing bonus is allot more realistic.

This is all intresting. I think we need to let our union know what it is we can live with and get this done.

We are already letting the Union know what we want, via the Wilson polling.

I don't think you have to worry about us getting a contract any time soon.
