Nothing too sexy. Was yet again frustrated at the amount of stuff under the tree that was not USA made. China definitely owns the market on products inside US homes.

We noticed that too.

Lots of China stuff. One t-shirt said something like "manufactured in the USA, assembled in Honduras."

I suppose the shirt came from a U.S. factory, and then went south to have the logo sewn in.

I didn't have to go in to work today. But I did have to work Christmas Eve forcing a major holiday plan change (specifically, I couldn't go visit the family). The biggest present was that my Parents stayed here with me just so I wouldn't have to be all by my lonesome.

That is a great Christmas!

The rest is just details. I'm still hoping for a decent (read: flying) job someday soon. I never batted an eye at the thought of working as a CFI on Christmas Eve, but ask me to play airplane mechanic on that day--and be ready for one grumpy mechanic.

Merry Christmas!

I did not even notice "where" the gifts came from.:p I am sure many others are the same way. A gift is a gift, no matter where the he!! it came from. It is solely the "thought" behind the gift that counts. When I went shopping this year as every other year, "where" the gift was made/from is never even a thought in my mind.

My gift was to receive nothing made in China.

I wish I could say the same for my kids.

I have not got anything yet but I did have my very own special Christmas dinner by my self.

One bowl of hot Mac and Cheese with one can of fresh Tuna mixed in, and salt-n-pepper to taste.

As the selected beverage I had one cold Silver Bullet. (aka. Coors Light)

What a special night it was

I cant wait till New Years Eve. I am thinking for that special night I will splurge and get Velvette (sp) shells not just the reg.

Happy Holidays and everyone Fly Safe!!

My Christmas gift was to have the holidays off of work, and to have my spouse, also a pilot, off of work AT THE SAME TIME! Of course, American Eagle did attempt a junior manning, but for some reason that silly phone just wouldn't work! :p

This will be the last Christmas that we'll both be off for the holiday for quite a while.

Oh, and a digital camera.

DispatchGuy... You're going to have to bring over them there DVD's when I hook up my new 400-disc DVD player. :D

This unit also plays the new "Super Audio" CD's... And got "THE" demo disc for the new format, the remastered and now surround-sound (5.1) version of Dark Side of the Moon. When run through my 900W home theater system it's likely going to make my ears bleed. Thanks, Santa!

Oh, and a few DVD's, books, and a killer Henckels kitchen knife. Just the thing to keep my flat-mate in line LOL

88_Malibu,
Is the wire you got the new module from Bose? If so, when did you order that thing? I ordered it in late August and now they're saying I'll get it in March 2004... so they sent me a complimentary set of noise cancelling headphones. I won't lie, I promptly eBay'd those suckers so now Bose basically paid me $25 and 7 months of waiting to get the upgrade:eek:

30-06 Browning A-Bolt with composite stock and a 3.5-10x50 Scope.

18v Milwaukee drill driver combo pack.

My wife got me three DVD sets from Spacecraft Films: The Mighty Saturns, Project Gemini, and Apollo 11. (Very cool. :) )

My dad got me a copy of Michael Shermer's Why People Believe Weird Things. (Got to keep my debating skills sharp... :D )

My mom got me a light blue guayabera. (Moms always send clothes... )

ASA got me a really pretty box with two cookies in it. They said a raise or bonus would ruin my morale.

(They also gave me a really fat Jepp revision...)

I got myself a 19" LCD monitor for my birthday last month. For Christmas, the GF got me a nice RL sweater. The folks/family got me a nifty wireless keyboard/mouse kit and a card thingy to watch TV on the 2nd monitor. New socks and a shirt and tie for work. Oh, and a new coffee maker to mount under the cupboard in my kitchen at the new condo.

All and all, not a bad Christmas! Happy New Year ya all!

I think US Airways used to have the same philosophy. Back when they could afford it (could they ever really afford it?), we would get a five pound block of cheese. The first year I got my cheese, I thought it was a joke.

When the company first announced furloughs in late '01, we all wondered if we were going to get our cheese that year (we didn't).

This year, I was home for three days straight over the holiday. And, the best gifts were the handmade ornaments my kids gave me.
