Skywest wins bid to fly regional jets for Delta

Tue Nov 21, 2006 3:35pm

NEW YORK, Nov 21 (Reuters) - Skywest Inc. said on Tuesday that Delta Air Lines Inc. had picked it to fly 12 regional jets that were earlier operated by Delta subsidiary Comair.

This looks remarkably similar to what USAir wants to do with Delta. Buy them then take some of their flying and give it to someone else. Don't forget Parker wants to reduce capacity 10%. You don't think he will reduce AWA/USAir's flying if he can reduce Delta's instead, do you? Who operates the cheapest?

Let's not forget a recent buyout of TWA by AA. That went really well too.

General,

You and the Delta boys can't claim moral superiority here. You may soon get the same treatment you have been dishing out. It's not fun being treated like the red headed stepchild. You know about the thrashing ASA has been receiving at the hands of SkyWest, right? This airline biz is tough, no one is immune from this stuff.

If you are fortunate, Delta will be allowed to make it out of BK on their own and then, MAYBE, Delta might be on the buying end of a deal.
