Just look at the pay rates. TP FO rates suck. If Eagle wants TP FO's, they should even out the rates.

All the flowbacks that will be recalled next year are RJ Cap's. Every aircraft every base and every seat will need filling in the next few months. No telling how they'll spread it out in the classes but you can be sure the RJ's will be showing major vacancies soon.

Yes, shiny ones!

To answer the question: there's no telling. It's really a crap shoot on day one of indoc but you can transfer to one after a one year lockin (first year pay is the same regardless of type).

about pay, first year prop and jet are exactly the same. you have a seat lock for one year. if you get a prop while in training after your year is up you can bid for the rj and make jet pay. if you get a prop you'll hold a line much faster than the jet and make more money b/c of that if you choose. then after your year is up you can go to the jet. not a big deal on the whole pay issue.

Good answer. Thanks.

As a new hire what are the chances of getting the RJ instead of prop at AE??

Depends on your age, and if they have jet slots offered in your class date. Recent classes have either been all jet, or a mixture of jet and props.

I said "depends on your age".... 'cause Day 1, you get to pick what aircraft/base in order of oldest to youngest in the class. So the older, the better your chances.

Have to agree. Saab is good time. Just ask all the SF3 Captains getting hired at SWA.

People need to stop with the RJ hard ons. It doesn't really matter what you fly. It's the type of person/pilot you are.

ORD is a popular base and all they offer there is the RJ. Say you move to Eagle and get a TP, are their hangups when bidding the jet at the end of your year?

Right now you have a better chance of getting a TP, they are pulling a bunch of SF3's out of the desert, and they are going to need to be staffed.

Ain't no thang! Eagle needs to open a Saab base at RFD

By the way, where are you guys at with the old contract? Is it almost up?

Not even close. It's a 16 year contract, which is kinda good and bad. We need some changes, but during these rough past couple of years AMR couldn't whipsaw us against TSA or CHQ. We do have an amendment round (our final one, I believe) coming up, so we should get a few changes from that.

No, still have a little under 9 years on the contract, but so far it has been pretty good.
