I just happened across this message board and was wondering if there are any like it for mechanics?
I have 10 years experience working on CL-600 and 601's at what use to be known as KC aviation in Dallas. When Goofstream bought them out I moved into the Planning dept and thought I had found my niche in life when GD bought them out and I was transferred to the GDAS facility.....then 9/11.
I turned contractor for a year as an inspector/scheduler at a 135 outfit (I do not care to mention their name).
Since the pickings are so slim in the Dallas area and my children need to eat, I have taken a job with a construction company as a truck driver changing oil on heavy equipment.

Can anyone help me?

Looking for a real job, real pay, and real life.

I hope you find something soon. I am not sure if it will help you any, if you can get your hands on an NBAA directory it has huge amts of info who operates what and where. You can go through it make alot of phone calls and fax alot of resumes and you may have a blessing from the big guy who will put you where you would like to be. If I can be any help at all just pm me and I will help you however I can. I was laid off nov 11 and found a job the first of the year. I know a lot of pilots and mech that are at home depot and walmart (both companies I would love to fly for) checking you out at the register. So my hat is off to you that you are keeping food on the table for your family.
