Out giving a PC in the mighty DA-20 this morning, it was really nice outside at YIP, 100+ miles vis, blue skies, white puffy clouds, green and gold landscape. I get to thinking how really lucky I am to be doing this. I would almost do it for free on a day like this, notice I said “almost free”, no intent to raise up the flames of indignation

An aviator emerges from the scuffle

Finally.

FINALLY!!

This is what I'm talking about. Someone who LOVES to fly and wants to share the experience with others.

Thank you Pilotyip.

It truly was a beautiful day to fly!

Then I landed, and Ops gave me an ulcer.

A world gone mad

What is this...love you speak of?

I admit one definition of love is a state of temporary insanity but, you know, it feels so goooooood.

:)

It has been sunny and nearly 100 here for a few weeks, but today the winds are calm, the radar is clear, and it is a very comfortable 67. I also have the day off, and probably should be out enjoying the weather more, but here I am. I hope the PC went well, nothing like a pink slip to darken your day.

Woke up this morning on the shores of Lake Naivasha in Kenya. It was a beautiful day with a slight chill in the air. Went for a boat ride to view the game in and around the lake. Saw a bunch of Hippos in the water; some Water Buck munching on reeds, a few Eagles looking for some fish to eat, Wildebeast ( sp? ), Deer, Cormorants, Pelicans, etc.

Drove back to Nairobi in the late morning and then flew back to Dubai in the afternoon. It was a good flight back; good crew, smooth air, and stars in the sky. Battled on the radio trying to talk to Addis Ababa and Mogadishu on HF, but hey that keeps me busy. F.O. flew a nice approach and landing and we were on the gate 10 minutes early.

Yea, it was a good day.

It is also a gorgeous day here in Southern California:

I WISH I were going flying today! :D Of course, I'd be looking at sprawling suburbia, crowded freeways, and smog, but I'll take what I can get.

It's about 96 degrees in Seattle. One of the hottest days in history. No one (well...almost no one, including me) has air conditioning in their homes. We have an absolutely gorgeous tri-level on Lake Washington with a great view of the lake and Olympics...but I'd gladly trade it (at least for this afternoon) for a little A/C.

Well...I figure about 6 more hours, then the sun will start to go down. Tomorrow the highs go back to a more seasonal level of mid to upper 70s and the great 3-day heat wave of the summer of '04 will be over...

I got a feevah. And the only prescription is more cowbell...

(OK...no more for today...:D )

I can join in here...

It has been a BEAUTIFUL warm few days here in Venice Italy. Looking forward to getting back to the family but this really aint a bad job. Not bad at all.

Walking around taking a few pics I think of all the tourists who spend a fortune to do this.....and its just another day for us!!!

now...if they would only pay my a$$ more and give me more farkin' days off!!!......oh wait....we weren't going there.....sorry

:D

Typical hot, summer day in Houston. I went running this morning, but had to quit after four and a half miles due to the insane heat. I took the neighborhood bicycle on a couple of errands. Passed some guy in the subdivision with a Porsche, pickup truck and boat in his driveway. The Oakridge Boys were blaring on his stereo, as he swayed drunkenly in his hammock, strumming his out-of-tune guitar and singing; "Elvira!" ...and then again, "Elvira, yee-haa!" he yells happily at me, more of a declaration than part of the song. Ahhh..Texas. I'm wondering, what is this guy is doing to my property value?

Off through Moday, and looking forward to a 30 mile training jaunt tomorrow morning on the road bike. Any of Y'all in Houston who ride are more than welcome to come with us. Drop me a PM.

Strange cold rainy day in Colorado since Thursday. I think Seattles weather decided to pay us a visit. 55, rainy, drizzly. Nice change from the 100 degree tmps though :D

It's Fun Fest time in Tennessee! :)

Also a beautiful day here in TRI. It's about 83, and not overly muggy. Fun Fest is going on full blast this weekend, with most of downtown Kingsport roped off for all the festivities. It should be perfect for the fireworks tonight!

I lived and flew out of Nairobi in 90/91, Great weather... never too hot and cools down at night. I loved the place and its my Fave in all of Africa. Sure do miss the Carinivour for food. Is the flying club still happening out at the airport? Had some great times in there. Take care and Fly Safe.

It's beautiful and sunny on Kailua Beach. Maybe 85 degrees with a few clouds. The sand blinded me this morning on my walk down the beach, it was so bright.

Thanks to the FO that displaced me today!

nice everywhere

It nice to see all the places piltos are at where it is beautiful today.
