This info may be a little out of date, but I did get my initial training through West Mesa in 1994 when it was owned and operated by Tom Kehen (sp). It was the best school in the area and they did a great job. The airplanes were in great shape and the maintance was very good. The instructor staff was also quite good and they really seemed to care about each of the students. I have not heard much about the school in the last few years, but I have heard it is still the best in the area. I hope this helps out at least a little.

Best school in ABQ for sure. Good aircraft, good mx, and good instructors. A really nice atmosphere and they treat you really well as a student and customer.

Double Eagle II is a nice airport. It is uncontrolled yet ABQ Class C is very close for training in a controlled environment. ATC in the Albuquerque area is really good as well. It does get very busy on the weekends though.

West Mesas chief instructor is named Alaska Harston. He is a really cool guy and will give you any and all information that you may need. You have more than likely already talked with him, but if not give him a call......505-831-2359.

Make sure that while you are there you pay Fransisco a visit upstairs. He can cook a mean carne asada taco plate!! He has a great little cafe and everything is bueno!!

Best of luck to ya!
