To all that blame Mesa you're an idiot that has no clue what consequences your greed had. If you had any idea how expensive a GOOD contract is, you would have avoided it like the plague. You are what is wrong with this industry, you are why airlines have been crippled, you are why so many pilots are on furlough, because of GREED, because of a mistaken sense of pride, and because your sense of entitlement extends beyond your intent to bring yourself home safe every night. You are the downfall of this industry. NOT us!

Name three companies that have been around twenty years, have not filed bankruptcy and are making a profit today, have been the launch customer for four new aircraft and have had its stock triple in the last year. (I know, I know run on sentence). I'm not proud of our contract nor our QOL by any means. Maybe Mesa just went on a diet before everyone else and is now in a position to take advantage of others short sightedness. The way I look at is there is only one way for us to go. Up. I'm not high on the kool aid however, with the state of the industry (I'm talking airlines not fractionals) it's a pretty secure place to be while the seas settle down. We have a great group of pilots that have contract negotations beginning next year (great possibilities as long as we are united and are not greedy). Yes, we do bicker among ourselves much the same way that brothers spat with each other. However, we are family and families need to stick together when tough times come. Our illustrious CEO may not be loved but is resourcful. Talk is of expansion, stand alone operations and narrow bodies all of which is possible (with labor ratification of course). Airline analysts consistintly use Southwest, The New US Air, and Mesa in the same sentence. This whole industry needs to think outside the 1900-2001 box. If everyone would quit looking for instant gratification, have patience, stop blaming others for their troubles and get their heads up and look a little further down the road I think the storm clouds will part. I'll bet on the tortise over the hare any day.

I think the Steelers are gonna win the Super Bowl. They looked damn good today.

Plummer picked the wrong time to have a horrible game.

For guys into cycling, I just bought an Eddy Merckx MX Leader frame. "One of the last still in the box from the factory in Belgium", says the dristributer. Its in the old Telekom team colors (dark grey) 52cm. Can't beat an old lugged steel frame.

What do you guys think I should build it up with? Ultegra or Campagnolo Centaur (I like Centaur better than record or chorus). I'm leaning twards Centaur and looking to build the bike strong, simple and reliable like the frame.

Anyone know how late the ski season goes in the Salt Lake City area? I'm getting off active duty in mid-Feb and wondering if there will be any good tracks left into the March timeframe.

Oh, and before I forget, any good BBQ in SLC???

Don't you know Texas is the only place for good BBQ. Try the Austin, San Antonio hill country for the best in the states. I've only found one or two in Atlanta, Jim and Nicks is my favorite right now.

About puked when I had Carolina Mustard BBQ, but to each his own.

Build it with Campy!!!
I personally can't stand Shimano, even the Dura-Ace.

I have to completely agree with you. Other's try to replicate, but Texas is the only place to get BBQ. You will only be disappointed if you try it any other place.

Tejas BBQ is OK although I think I prefer pork over beef. I'll take eastern NC vinegar based pork any day of the week. Memphis dry rub on ribs is pretty good to. You have to love The Rendezvous.

Want another cat? I hate our fargin cat. Whenever it sharts it stinks up half the house. I often ponder how far it would fly if I got about a 12 stride start and booted it as hard as I can. I'm guessing I could get it to go a solid 25 yards....

There's your problem. Sounds like you got the mustard stuff in South Carolina.
You need to head north for real BBQ. Either eastern NC for vinegar-based BBQ, or even Lexington for some tomato-based BBQ.

But it would land on its feet.

These are the funniest replies to the most retarded post I have seen on FlightInfo in a long time! Fooking hilarious!

I digress...

Anyone eaten at the restaurant named Dinosaurs in ROC? Excellent, excellent chicken wings. The best!

Campy is for Freds. Unless your last name is Armstrong, Basso or Ullrich Ultegra is all you'll ever need. Nice frame BTW.

I always thought Merckx bikes were cool but the carbons are pretty expensive. The (steel) Motorola retro frame they are selling is nice but the weight turns me off. Guess I just have no sense of history.

Just curious, but why do you like Centaur over Record or Chorus? (Go with Campy by the way. I just got a new Cervelo R2.5 Chorus and I like it a lot better than the Ultegra I have on my other bikes.) I can understand not wanting Record because of the high costs (what's a rear derailleur going for, $300?) but the Chorus on my Cervelo has been great.

And speaking of my Cervelo, I managed to break the frame after only 2 months and less than 300 miles! I had just unleashed my best Robbie McEwen sprint and all of a sudden the front end started feeling really soft and mushy. I rode on for a bit trying to figure out if my enormous sprinting power had broken a spoke or ruined the headset somehow, but all the pieces were still in place. Only after a few miles did I notice that the downtube had split from the headtube and was sliding about an inch out of the lug with my weight on the bike. The downside is that I'm without wheels until Cervelo can send another frame, but the upside is that since they aren't making the R2.5 frame anymore I'll likely get the new R3 frame that CSC is riding this year! Either that, or I told them they could substitute a Soloist Carbon if need be. I'm all about being flexible, ya know.:D

It just sucks not to be able to ride right now.

My parents made me ride a Schwinn. I got made fun of by everyone. My son is getting an f-ing Harley on this 5th b-day.

I don't understand what everyone is YELLING ABOUT!!!! Yeah Rick stabbed a guy with a tri-ax....I would hang low for a while if I were you...**ck MESA!

Anybody watch the Anaheim SuperCross tonight? What a battle between Ricky Carmichal and James Stewart. Its gonna be a heck of a season!
