Delta climbs in on-time ranks, but ASA still lags

Delta Air Lines climbed to no. 6 in the industry for on-time performance in 2006, although commuter affiliate Atlantic Southeast Airlines was last out of 18 carriers ranked, according to figures released Wednesday.
Atlantic Southeast also finished the year with the worst rate of lost luggage — continuing its perennial poor showing in that category — although there was a hint of improvement in December.

AirTran Airways, Delta's top rival in Atlanta, was no. 9 for the year in on-time performance.
Delta's full-year performance was boosted by a 3rd-place showing in December, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation's monthly consumer report.
Delta's percentage of on-time flights — defined as those arriving within 15 minutes of schedule — was 80.8 percent in December and 76.3 percent for the full year, the DOT report said. Delta posted the same percentage in 2005 but ranked 11th that year.
Hawaiian Airlines had the best on-time rate for 2006, at nearly 94 percent.
Delta's feeder carriers continued to lag. Comair, a subsidiary based in Cincinnati, was 14th in December and 11th for the full year. Atlantic Southeast, which operates as a Delta Connection carrier out of Atlanta, did better than usual with a 10th place spot in December, but remained in last place for the year with a rate of 66 percent.
AirTran ranked 5th in December and 9th for all of 2006 at 74.6 percent.
AirTran also held the top spot in December in terms of fewest baggage complaints, with a rate of 3.77 complaints per 1,000 passengers.
Delta held seventh place in December, with a rate of 7.72 complaints. Comair was 18th, with a rate of 15.84, while ASA showed a bit of improvement in December, ranking 16th out of 20 carriers, with an 11.38 complaint rate. It still held bottom place in the full-year results, with 17.37 baggage complaints per 1,000 passengers.

Yea, So... we just want to be the "most respected", nothing in there about being on time as I recall.
Why don't you post the "Most respected rankings" and see where we fall. I think you'll be surely surprised.
