Conair tanker 48, I am pretty sure that tanker was at Wainwright/Ladd Field 08 when I was there

RIP Tim. You were a great guy to hang out with and made time out on the ramp much more interesting.

414Flyer- T-55 (Ft. Wainwright) and T-52 (Palmer) were the Conair Alaska ships both this year and last. I don't know about 2008, well could have been T-48. 52 and 55 are the only two of Conairs Convairs that are federally carded, which allows the state to provide mutual aid with them to the USFS and BLM.

Tim, the captain killed in the crash, was the captain on T-52 in Palmer last summer. This year he had decided to stay in BC.

You could be right, my memory is often not. For a while in 08, we had both of the Convairs at Wainwright, and looking through photos, one was definitely 55

You ever meet Tim?

He was a great guy to have on the ramp. Laid back, good stories, called people on thier BS. Seemed to be a true professional in regards to his firefighting abilities.

Sad to see him go...
