So was the estimate I put out there close enough to the real pay or way off? I would really like to know.

This is true. I knew you would counter with the "what about the other services" argument. Well, played... and it's a very valid argument. The Army and the Warrant Officer Corps isn't for everyone! I'm just trying to offer the man the variety of viewpoints so that he can make an informed decision. And, by the way, I am no longer the fridge BEEATCH. We've got a pair of new WOJGs that take care of it.

Pistlpetet! 60 drivers actually get to climb in their aircraft and go fly a few times a week. I know this is a foreign concept for you! ;)

agreed, i'm just trying to offer different viewpoints as well.

i believe that the army mis-markets this program in an attempt to ride on the tails of the other branches.

i just like to provide a differing viewpoint based on my 10 years of experience, which i admit isn't much.

you are right about one thing, it isn't for everyone...

Thanks for the attempted 60 stab. But thankfullly I moved out of a muddy boot assignment like the 101st, and have been fortunate to have an assignment where I get to be a Pilot first and foremost. Believe it or not, in 2.5 years I have flown over 1000hours in the Army. Not too bad for an Attack guy huh?

I have plenty of hellfires spun up with the UH-60 code, but I need to keep them on standbye in case I have to re-code them as Morris missles when he get out of line again.

That ain't bad at all. I don't buy the "Apache guys never fly" argument anyhow. I talked to some guys going through WOAC and they all said that hours were pretty much uniform across the airframes by their level.

Hondo would definately be fun. Have not heard anything bad about any of those south of the border excursions. Flight time is all about timing, unit and luck in the army. I think that KW guys fly the most because the nature of their mission, always screening and on the recon, but I did have a 60 friend who flew 669 hours in 14 months as the CG's pilot in Korea. Anyways, good luck in the desert, and congrats on your promotion to WOJG CDR.

That’s a hell of a lot of time for the army. I've been told you would be considered lucky if you pulled 200 hrs a year. I believe I read that in an aviation magazine at our airport in Longview. Anyways it was an article on the woft program itself. The best thing though is if you do get through about 8 years, any army aviator would have no problem landing a rotor wing job in the civilian world. I don’t mean a crap one either. I mean one like life flight and stuff of that nature. Anyways that’s great that you're knocking down time like that. Peace
