Hello,

Does anybody have any recommendations on a nice pair of warm dress style boots/casual shoes? I'm looking for something that I can wear in snow, but still have a good business/casual/dress appearance. Any recommendations out there?
I'm heading over to Russia for a little while next month. I'm expecting it to be cold and snowy. So, I'm looking........

Thanks!

I have a few pairs of these boots and have not had a problem with them and the price is cheap enough where you can purchase a few pairs. They are also somewhat "fashionable" and will give you quite a bit of wear and they hold up in the worst of wx.

Thanks, I appreciate it! I'll check them out.
You are more than welcome... Should you purchase a pair I highly doubt that you will be disappointed.

Do you know any cops? Check out what they're wearing...we were required to keep a high shine on our boots but at the same time needed something that was warm, comfortable, could be ran in, and provided excellent traction in the snow.

I preferred the Rocky Eliminator series. They are more expensive than some other brands, but they are, without question, the best. I was able to wear them in the mega-subzero freezing temps and 100 degree heat of upper plains. Smear a little polish on 'em (if you scuff 'em...which I always did), and they were a comfortable and good-looking dress shoe suitable for court. They truly are amazing boots. I was on the job for five years, and, despite wearing them every day, they would last 2.5 years. If fact, I still have a pair that I wear regularly.

Before you buy boots, I highly recommend that you find a retailer that carries Rockys and try 'em on. I'll bet that you'll be sold.:)

So, the bigger question is are those boots airport-"friendly"? Or do they need to be taken off everytime we go through security? The Rocky's seem nice (expensive) but them are a lot of laces to untie if some TSA'er gets edgy.

Good point. I gotten so good and removing and replacing mine that I don't have a problem. I've worn them through security on two trips and my particular model didn't set off the metal detectors.

And you don't have to un-lace and re-lace them everytime you put 'em on..you can get by with just loosening them.
