got the call for a july interview. anyone have any idea how the sim ride and written tests are? im guessing the written tests will be from the atp written, but thats only a guess. anyone that interviewed there recently care to give some advice? they said some applicants will be flown to ict for a sim ride and I have no idea what type sim?(lear i guess) anything at all would be nice.

Ditto the above request for information. Guess I will see you down there Wannab. =)) I have asked my friend down there what the sim ride is in and he indicated it would be a lear. I have no Idea how to prep for that one. I am also guessing that the test will be from the ATP book. But that is just a guess.

Can't believe im Rogers bound.

Wal*Mart Interview

I interviewed with Wal*Mart back in '02. At the time they were looking for up to six newhires. They invited 30. 23 showed up and they hired 3. From what I heard, they all had Lr types already. The whole process was very much a class act. They flew us all to Atlanta for a 3 day process. The sim eval was in Flight Safety's Lr 31A. I believe the ICT sim is a 35.

The ride was very straightforward with a 45 minute CPT session beforehand. We weren't expected to takeoff or land. We had a choice of which seat and the other seat was occupied by a very helpful, senior pilot who was on the hiring commitee. He or she will do whatever you ask and is definitely there to help. Typical profile. No emergencies. Just fly around, holding pattern and fly an ILS. Mostly a check on situational awareness and instrument proficiency. I wish I had messed around with my FS2000 Lr45 sim. I wasn't ready for the FD and EFIS. Also, the Lear trim switch on the yoke was new to me. (Ya have to push the barrel in, otherwise it changes the altitude selector or VS on the FD)

The interview was mostly a get to know you affair. Typical HR stuff, CRM stories, have you ever violated an FAR?... Stuff like that.

The test was indeed mostly ATP topics. Mostly part 91 IFR type regs. Holding speeds, weather reports...

This was all while BL was the Chief Pilot. Things may have changed considerably since he left.

Do a search for Wal*Mart, there were a few pretty good threads back then. I need to get them an updated resume. I still don't have any jet time but it sure seemed like a job I could really enjoy and make a career out of. PM me if you'd like. It's all kind of fuzzy, having occured two years ago!

Good luck!
