What genius put up the "gerbil" barricade that now blocks anybody from going into C-24 when coming from operations?

And why don't we have small ramp leading into the ops door on ramp 3 that would make it a little easier to pull our bags through? It seems like the simplest idea, I'm sure I'm not the first to bring it up. What gives?

I like the little signs that say to use the stairwells by C-21 and C-23. Just what I want to do, schlep my bags up a ton of stairs when there was a perfectly good elevator that they put up a barricade right in front of.

If enough people get injured carrying all our crap up and down they stairs and start claiming OJI things will get fixed. Not that I am going to claim injury if I'm not, but I know plenty of FA's and some out of shape pilots that will!

Carrying bags up the stairwell sounds like a great way to throw out your back, go out on OJI, and claim unemployment for the next 6 weeks. Maybe even sue ASA. Gee, doesn't ASA have a huge staffing problem right now...?

Like they care. Fresh blood lowers costs and has a better attitude. Most people from the outside don't know how things are here. They act "normal" until they learn to exist in this hostile environment.

But the up side is that you will meet AirTran crews on the garbage elevator on the South Side of the Spline. Who knows, might be a good place to had out your resume. Every cloud has a silver lining!

Does anyone have a logical explanation for the barricade? I mean seriously, is there a real reason, other than they want to drive us to quit by reason of insanity?

2 weeks ago, I ran into 25 or so passengers trying to walk into ops. There was no barracade, and the C24 door was closed with no gate agent in sight. Passengers didn't know where to go. I had to turn them all around and escort them to the closest "non-broken" door.

So now we have welded steel in our way instead of broken tensa-barriers

We're not happy till you're not happy. Add 5 minutes to delays for finding the way through the maze.

Probably the same genius that decided to take out the light switch in the secondary sleep lounge, leaving the lights on bright.

Probably the same genius that decided the men's room in the crew room should not be cleaned either.

Probably the same genius that has decided that a swing gate attached to an airplane on a secure ramp relegates the aircraft unsecure.

I'm sure I'm missing a few more.

Walked by the Barricade and it looked like some people in charge of it might be planning to change it or a few things for the better. They were out there examining it...got to many complaints i guess.

Slap up a couple-a dem ALPA "Poor Staffing on yo Part" sticka's and see what day say then........ Lets the PAX read sum stuff while they is wondering round the commut-a-walk maze..... Bouyyyyyyyy

I would never do that. I always enjoy seeing passengers going the wrong way. Perhaps if they walked into the pilot lounge, some manager's head would roll. Just pretend you didn't see them walking into ops.

"To better serve our paying passengers, all ASA employees are hereby prohibited from using elevators and/or escalators within the terminal, including the elevator in the C-24 gate area. This will reduce the wait time for our passengers as well as lowering electrical and maintenance costs. As an added benefit, employees will have the opportunity for exercise thereby improving health and reducing medical costs. This simple change will help to make ASA the best regional airline in the industry."

Those cranky gate agents that work 24 put that sign up. The door works just fine when they need it for boarding pax. The plastic wall just shows that our stupid management doesn't give a crap about the flight crews. That one old bat gives us dirty looks whenever we walk through the gate area. I guess she was getting a chill whenever the door opened.

What about the idea of putting a small ramp by the Ops doors at C-24 to make it easier to bring bags through? Who would I see about this?

Gate 24 is the worst. The agents are totally idiots. The "Atlantatude" is alive and well at C24.

Okay, what if our aircraft is parked at gate 24? How do we get to it now? I guess we're supposed to go out the C23 ops door, up the stairs, over to the other stairs, go down the stairs and then out to our airplane?

Normally I don't mind a little walking, but clearly management is once again trying to make our lives just a little more frustrating. STRIKE!!!!!

These "Imporvements" are part of our new Pilot fitness program. Along with paying you as little as possible to buy food with. We have installed a Pilot Obstacle Course that requires you to do more physical work to get into the building. Things such as the maze around C24 and having to pull your bag up instead of providing a ramp cause you to become more physically fit by forcing you to exercise. This makes your speed quicker when you have to do your job and everyone else's in ATL. However, we have provided you with the crew van so you do not have to walk to the other plane we swapped you to with a 30 minute turn and then parked three concourses away. We considered eliminating that as well but than we realized it would not help with our operational problems. It's just us again helping you realize "The Vision".
