Q WHY ARE WE MAKING CONCESSIONS AT ALL?
The company instis they need concessions in order to compete for United's buisness against other "lower cost bidders"..... BUT THE BID TO UNITED WAS ALREADY SUBMITTED PRIOR TO ALLOWING US TO VOTE ON THE TA. Whether we ratify the TA or not will in no way effect United's decision to accept or reject the existing bid. Concessions are irrelevant at this point! All you are doing is subsidizing the company's industry leading balance sheet.

Q What short-term effect does this new agreement have on my pay?
A: This is substanial pay cut no matter how you look at it. Factoring in the current and future pay rate, concessions, reductions, in perdiem, work rule changes , and the discontinuation of Share-the -Success this TA equals a 10-to-15 percent cut in our pay- depending on your individual circumstances!! YOUR PAY CHECKS WILL BE REDUCED BY CONSIDERABLY MORE THAN 7.5%

Q: What long-term effect does this new agreement have on my pay?
A: This agreement is not just a one time pay cut. The company is going to reduce your pay increases every year for the next half decade! Instead of a 3% increase to all rate tables annually, the tables would increase only 2% per year. With compounding, your future increases have been reduced by 34% (you would have had 15.9% earnings growth under the existing contract versus. 10.4% earning s growth under the TA) WE WILL NEVER MAKE UP FOR OUR PAY CONCESSIONS BY GETTING LOWER PAY INCREASES FOR THE NEXT % YEARS! In fact, assuming a 7.5% pay cut now and 2% pay increases annually for the next five years, we are ensuring that our real earnings will actually decrease, because our raisies will not keep up with inflation.

Q: what concessions have other companies negotiated with their pilots?
A: We still do not have all the specific details yet on all the competiotion, but we know that skywest has accepted an 18 month pay freeze, with snap back provision. This seems a rational solution to a short-term problem. Meanwhile, for the next 5 years, ACA pilots would condemn themselves to substandard pay and rate increases. THIS DIP IN THE INDUSTRY IS TEMPORARY..... WHY ARE WE VOTING ON HALF A DECADE OF PAY CONCESSIONS?

Q What are we getting in return for these concessions?
A: Basically nothing- but here's the breakdown:
Home study training courses- (the company was already going to do this anyway because of the cost savings it generates)

New profit sharing plan- this amounts to giving us back our own money, at the company's options!

Mandatory pilot participation IF the "share the Success" program is reinstated- see new profit sharing plan

Preferential Bidding system- not likely to result in any better lines than the current system. In fact, it's a huge loss to the pilot group since we lose transition, vacation and training conflicts among other things

Industry leading protections on CVR and FDR recordings- Isn't this what we should already be expecting for our ALPA dues?

New CRJ 70 seat pay rate- After concessions this may end up being about the same as the current pay scale on the 50 seater!!

Military leave flight benefits on ACA- This shouldn't even be negotiable, it should be automatic. ACA should never have taken away the flight benefits of the brave men and women dfending our country. These people have more than earned that benefit.

DO YOURSELF AND YOUR PROFESSION A FAVOR- VOTE NO

sounds like crap to me.....

keep fighting and stay united, you have the support of the CHQ pilot group.
