vision standards

I am a college student interested in flying for the navy or marines. However I just found out that one of my eyes is 20/30 correctable to 20/20. is this a problem for getting a flight slot. i'm looking at OCS or the marine's PLC -aviation and I thought i would be a lot harder to get a flight slot.

Any insight?

Also if anyone knows the AF's policy on this, i might consider that.

You have 20/30 correctable to 20/20? Should not be a problem at all!! The Navy policy now is you can have 20/50 as long as it is correctable to 20/20. Skywiz

I had 20/30 (just barley) when I took my Navy physical. The doc actually had me come back the next day to re take the eye exam, because I failed the first time. I think the standard for the Navy is still 20/30 correctable to 20/20. There are some eye exercises you can do to "strengthen" your vision. I have always been on the borderline due to vision, and I was sweating the physical for years. Now, after getting my wings, your eyes can go to pot, as long as they stay correctable to 20/20.
