"Heard" VX is cancelling hundreds of flights this fall due to no interest from passengers.

True?

Just like every other airline does in the fall period, VX is reducing flight hours in Sept and Oct to compensate for reduced travel demand during this period.

VX got a new VP recently that determined the normal reduction that all airlines do for fall were not deep enough. The schedule was made before he showed up, so he felt it was best to reduce another 1% or so. Not news worthy.

Small additional season cut, and since pilots were already awareded their Sept schedules, everyone is pay-protected for the cancelled flights. Still projecting back to normal holiday schedule for November and December.

In noteworthy news, it seems the pool is finally empty and any new classes after the one this week will have to come from new applicants. The window should open up in December or so, for the aircraft delivery coming in March.

Airways has CXed 2000hrs of Mesa flying for Sept/Oct. Plan to get back about 1000hrs by December. Our loads have dropped off a cliff even taking into account the fall slowdown.

I think the Bankers that run this country are going to pull the handle and flush us down the toilet after this election cycle.

Or it could just be the beer talking...
