Anyone have any updated info on Virgin America? I keep hearing that they still plan to start up soon. But am I right in that they do not officially have any ac or ac orders? Should we be nervous that they maybe have some sort of plan concerning an existing U.S. carrier, such as Alaska or Jetblue? From what I understand Branson is still saying that they will be starting up next year. I can't imagine him investing too much of his time if he didn't have some sort of plan up his sleave. Unlike most of our airline mgt, he is definitely no dummy.

I have heard that rumor floating around about Alaska. Who knows, maybe it would not be a bad thing for us.

I know a guy (check airman at my company) who interviewed for one of the management type positions (Director of training, or something to that effect) at Virgin America. He has stayed in touch with many of the management types over there, and he says things are still a go. I think they have a bunch of options for 320's, but as for firm orders, I'm not sure. Supposedly sometime next year is when things will start over in SFO.

Something else to be scared of. I believe Alaska denied the rumor that Ayer was seen with Branson, but who knows.
