Well may you soon not be working A-hole!
You tell me why VA is going to survive. They're bringing nothing new to the table. They have a very junior pay-roll and they're just another low-cost hack using the backs of the employees to stay afloat.

Well may that fact be on your house first!Ahole.

Spin I'm curious, is your support for VX simply based on emotion because you work there and rely on the paychecks, or do you truly believe in the business plan and the product layed out by management. Obviously overall the products is decent, the awards prove that, but do you truly believe in the plan in the face of $150 oil? Other than WN, I don't see how anyone can be assured of their own survival in the current climate. Or option #3, do you think the pockets are deep enough that you will simply be around long enough for a few of your competitors to crumble leaving you guys alone on some routes to raise prices?

Exactly. No one can be assured of their survival. I like our chances and take them gladly. If that galls you,and people like you, so be it! Our business plan is working but it will need investor help. The investors see progress even in trying times but how long that can go on I don't have the answer.

The bottom line is that to revel in anyones demise for any reason may reward you with a similar fate. So flame away but do so knowing it may be at your own peril.

Nothing new to the table? We bring everything new to the table you cretin.

Your business plan is working out but you need more investor help. In other words, you are losing money hand over fist and need more money just to stay in business? How is that a business plan? At any point in this whole venture is the plan to actually start making money?

I don't think anyone here is, as you perceive, "reveling" in the potential demise of VA.

History has shown, paying your employees less than than the competition is no substitue for talent: A la Skybus. And the customers have no loyalty to any one carrier...even if you do have XM this or Wireless that.

My prediction stands: VA is not in the right position to weather this Sh*tstorm. Sorry brother.

No actually our plan is to lose all the money there is in the known world that way you won't have any! Then we will be the only one left and of course a ticket from SFO to JFK will cost $100,000...thats one way! I believe we will be able to survive $150-200 oil at that time.
stop laughing..I really mean it...its all a plot to take your job!

Really!!! You really are pathetic..I believe you said "Yep. Just a short time before they're taken to the landfill and tossed on top of the still-warm Skybus corpse".
So here's hoping your corpse is first!

VX -- wasn't that a chemical weapon?

The funny thing about this whole thread and the direction it is going ... is that a similar one was started and bickered over right before Skybus went "away".

Oh don't worry, they will be back. Didn't you hear the comments from the CEO, he is just waiting for some new investors and then will restart the company....... anytime now you'll see....... ;-)

You tell me why VA is going to survive.

Smokin Hot Fa's, tasty snacks, cool inflight entertainment and a horn dog billionaire with a gynormous ego to foot the bill. Who know's how long the ride will last, but as they say, it's better to burn out than fade away. Hey maybe that'd be a good song lyric......

Just curious why everyone likes to get on the bash VA bandwagon? Is is just because they're not Alpa or an inhouse union? Or is it really because you might be just a bit jeolous? For the record I'm a union guy, believe in them and that they serve a much needed purpose. After a few years the VA guys will most likely come around to the same idea and vote one it.....but they are only 1 year old...give them a break! Why is it that no one's trashing the JB guys for being non-union or thier silly uniforms? OMG, a Blue uniform shirt....how non-standard!

Is it the "low wages" so you can undercut us arguement? That's bunk too, if that's the case then you should also trash JB, Allegiant, Midwest, Frontier and Suncountry. Just did a VERY informal average of like sized equipment pay scales for CA and FO's of 10 airlines: Co, US, NWA, AK, A/T, ALGT, FRT, MDW, S/C and JB: The avereage 1st yr Captain makes 96/hr and the average FO starts at 35. VA is 95/44. The VA guys should be screaming about OUR low FO wages! A VA Capt is up to 120 in 5 years, an ALG Capt will never get there without overtime and would take 10 years at Suncountry.

Maybe we're "afraid" of VA because they have a hell of a product that we have to compete against? They don't have fat old FA's who treat the pax as a liability to be put up with. Rather than b!tch and complain about what VA is doing right, try jumpseating on them....see how you are treated and then go back to your job and try and treat everyone the same way....you might like your job a little better and your customers will appreciate it as well. Whenever you meet a VA pilot talk to them about a union in a constructive manor. These guys/gals have most all come from Alpa carriers/regionals and were either furloughed or stagnating at a regional with no where to go. Hopefully JB will vote a union in, and I hope the VA folks will do so eventually as well. They will be a tough competitor for some of the LCC's which is good. But to argue that they are the ruin of the industry because of thier wages is a false arguement.

VA has a good product and from what I can tell a decent corporate culture. They seem focused on keeping their employees happy which hopefully they can sustain.

Not bashing but since you brought it up the way things are set up right now it would also take a VA pilot longer than 5 years to get to your $120 mark. Apparently you return to year one on the captain payscale after upgrading. For start up guys it worked out though!
