Does anyone have any contact phone numbers for human resources / pilot recruitment people at VA. No such info exists on the website or application. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sent my stuff in for a street CA position the day I found out I was terminated from AAI. They responded back with an immediate interview offer that I couldn't get to in time without airline travel, which they didn't want to pay for, requested to schedule another interview when I could pre-plan reasonable cost travel.

Since she didn't bother giving me the courtesy of returning my phone calls last September, I'll neglect the courtesy of giving her a heads-up I'm forwarding her information to you... and anyone else who might be interested.

Didn't say I wouldn't travel, said they wanted me to fly out with 24 hours' notice and wouldn't pay for it (standard policy for most airlines to bring you out for the interview). Ticket was over $1,000. When I politely explained, thanked them for the opportunity, and asked nicely for a reschedule for the next month so I could get a 10 or 30 day advance ticket purchase, they stopped returning my emails.

I'd say that paints a pretty clear picture of Virgin America.

Incidentally, genius, I have and DID travel for other interviews, would have been hard to get hired at PCL and later AAI if I hadn't... 24 hours' notice for an interview is rather close, IMHO.

Then again, you internet tough guys who hide behind the cover of anonymity throw stone pretty quickly. God forbid you actually get the full story before you start bashing people.

Ok I'll admit that the VA gig might not be the best deal going. However if they were that eager to have you out it may have been worth the money to get the job. There have been more than a few who said don't spend the money on a type for SWA. Best money I've ever spent. So you never know what might work out.

I'm no tough guy. far from it. The way I read it, you come across as Mr. Attitude. Pretty easy target for bashing IMHO.

Yeah, I see how it could have come across that way. Just never been brushed off like that by a "professional" airline recruiter; they at least have the courtesy to return your call/email and say, "I'm sorry, that was the only slot we had, but we'll keep you on file for the next one", even if they don't.

There's a way to treat people, and there's a way NOT to treat people. From the airline who's all about "people", I was surprised to get bashed by a SWA guy... Your P.D. has been EXTREMELY friendly, even when I didn't get the job at SWA, and I responded in kind, writing a thank you letter for interviewing me.

Kindness and courtesy go a long way with me. Rudeness does not and often gets responded in kind.
