Don't know first hand, but a good friend of mine worked there while on furlough... Said it was scary due to lousy MX, a fly or you're fired management style, and just an overall fear for his life.
I wouldn't go there. They fly their planes long and hard. It's not so much that MX is suspect, it's just the planes are a little tired and hard to maintain when they're flying so much.
don't really know anything about the company but can tell you I saw them every day in the bahamas over at marsh harbour and treasure cay. They also fly a beech 1900. They have a great name in the bahamas with the hotels and I never ever heard anything bad aboutt them from the pilots who worked there or from passengers in the bahamas. This is 3 years of flying around da bahamas.
So the maint. isues a lil confusing but then again I stopped flying to the bahamas 2 years ago so maybe the maint has gone south.
Just strange since they have a great name in the islands. that they would have a bad maint.
they've not had any incidents for a while, it seems, which is good. they do fly the crap out of their whole fleet. 4 or 5 king airs and the beech 1900. they also like to cut cessnas off when the little guys are on final but that's another story...
Turned down an invitation to INTERVIEW with this firm one year ago since the CP related there was NO HEALTH PLAN in place for the PILOT GROUP at that time, and also NO GUAURNTEED MINIMUM PAY either.
Has anything changed at this operator at this time??????
