It's now a possbillity to fly VFR into Russia. I just noticed on the EAA page that they just opened up a route that would take a person from Nome AK to Russia VFR.

That NOTAM lacks one important thing, a pilot must have a handle of Stoli to appease the controllers in case of possible misunderstanding.

That, and you should probably bring your own av-gas for the trip back

i remember a banner tow pilot about 20 years ago who was bored and he fly a piper cub around the world on a dare. he flew threw that area.
