Very, strange flight, WTF?

Looking at the ID on FlightAware - it was a Pan Am Boston-Maine Airways "Clipper Express". I saw a PanAm 727 at IAD a few weeks ago. N542PA I think...

A tour of white sands missile range? Why at 10,000? Must be a horrific fuel burn!

Maybe had a maintenance problem of some sort? Maybe the a/c woudln't pressurize and needed to stay at/under 10,000 ft and dump some fuel before returning to ELP?

The reason I ask was, I picked that plane up from the paint shop in Roswell when it was finished. Phoenix tower commented how the paint job looked like we ran someone over......the Sun near the prop...only Mesa !!!!!!!!
