I was listening to flight control yesterday after departing ATL. There were 2 of our crj's in the money line. The second one called the first to tell him he was watching something "looks like white paper" falling from the left engine.

The first guy calls up to ask if he can still take off. Dispatcher (sounding a little perplexed) says to ask MTC. So, the first RJ Capt. (with something falling from his left engine) tells MTC "I'm number 2 for takeoff and all my gauges are normal. I'm ok taking off if you are ok with it". WTF??!!!??

Of course MTC said "if your ok, go ahead" and off he went.....wow.

That is simply unbelievable. You should have stepped in on freq. and asked him to think twice.

Getthereitis is very contagous.

Who do you think handles our bags, worldfly?
I know what you mean it just seems as Havoc continues to rain so will the pilot blaming game will begin, already today I've had a friend call telling me that a CP told him to watch what he wrote up. as he is being watched.
All I saying is be extremley careful on what and how you write things up as to protect your self and your families income. Having said that my pen has been extremly busy latley if you know what I mean.

Fly safe and good luck to all, it great to see everyone finally has the vision theythe spent $3 million of my hard earned money on.

You know I did. ya' know, contract or no contract, if someone tells me something just fell out of my engine, I'm going back to the gate. period. but hey, thats just me.

Chief Pilots are now calling people about their write-ups MGT wants to know what is going on??

WHAT A JOKE= They have no idea!

And the flying will go to which airline that doesn't have enough pilots to do its own flying?

Exactly!! They don't stand a chance in HELL of replacing us! There is NO ONE to do our flying!

Had a CP call me about my write ups as well! I told him it was all about safety and I was NOT going to take an airplane that did not have all the REQUIRED equipment on board!;) The fact that mgmnt does not know what is happening.....yeah, big surprise there:rolleyes:...Anyhow, EVERYONE KEEP FLYING SAFE!!

I have been seeing too many people taxing TOO FAST! Slow it DOWN...BE SAFE! Remember, "...a brisk walk..." NO FASTER!!!

The growing airline with a quick upgrade and seemingly stable future won't have a problem finding pilots at another regionals expense (SkyWest). We are in denial to think that, once dumped on the street, ASA pilots would stay away from SkyWest with an Atlanta base and and upgrade that isn't jeopardized by company/union politics. It always seems to be darkest, right before it gets darker.

Vee...WAKE UP! You are definately playing "Chicken Little." They got NOTHING...they CANNOT even supply their OWN airline with pilots...GET WITH THE PROGRAM!!!

That would still take months. Even qualified ASA pilots would have to go through SKYW training, and that would be a loss of 800 departures a day for longer than DAL would want. I've said before I'd like to be a SKYW street-captain based in ATL, but I don't see that happening.
