I'm in Dallas this week for recurrent and we're looking for good BBQ. Anyone know any good places? We are at the Staybridge on Executive Circle in Irving.
No generic answers please...we need GOOOOOOOD bbq!

My stomach thanks you in advance!

The best BBQ in the DFW area is served at my house, cooked by me in my own pit from a family recipie handed down over many generations.

The next best BBQ in Texas is served (whenever they feel like it) at the New Zion Baptist Church in Huntsville. $5 a plate, all you can eat, served "family style". Again, just a bunch of the old-timers cooking it up in the pits out back.

Better than you can get in ANY restaurant anywhere. In fact, seeking out good BBQ is definitely an art, and once you have come close to perfecting it, you'll come to realize that looking for it in a restaurant is futile.

Yank,
Are you inviting me to your house?!:)
I understand where you're coming from. The best I've ever had was done by a mechanic in his home-made smoker. Amazing...I wish I could say I was that good, but I'm not.

Let me rephrase my question: Where can an out-of-towner go to get some good bbq? There has to be a good hole-in-the-wall place somewhere around here.

I'm partial to this place...

From an ad:
North Main BBQ - Euless
(406 N. Main Street, 76039 - 817 267-7821 or 283-0884) Only open Friday and Saturday from 11:30-2:00 & 6:00-9:00; great ribs were highlight at a recent BBQ Convention in Arlington; smoky, crisp with a strong flavor of rub spices.

...They are only open a few days though. Euless is not far from Irving. Basically, look for 360 and 183..go west from there about a half mile to main street in euless. Go north on main for about 500 yards and it's on the right. Good stuff. I think it's 8-10 bucks, all you can eat.

I have heard good about North Main BBQ, but due to their very limited hours, have never been there...

Spring Creek BBQ is pretty good down there, and close to DFW on S side...

We leave friday night...just depends on when our checkride is on friday...if it's in the morning we could make the early seating, otherwise it will have to wait till another time.
I think I've been to Spring Creek...last year when I was down here. is that the place that serves icecream after you eat. They have great peach cobbler!

Thats the place... They have ice cream and cobbler at a separate counter with some Texas cuties selling it for a couple bucks...

I ate there twice a two weeks ago when I was down there for 900EX recurrent... I got the 2 meat combo plate (Brisket & Sausage) with a side order of 1/2 lb of ham... MMmmm... I wish I wasn't so far from Texas right now!

yep, spring creek, that's the place I'm thinking of. Thank's for the reminder about the hotties...somehow I'd forgotten! The peach cobbler and ice cream pushed out the hotties...oh God, what have I become?! I get married in two weeks and I'm thinking about food more than women. AAAAAAHHHHHH!

Went to Coal River tonight. Ate some d@mn good food and drank some expensive beer and played pool (it's free on sunday nights) and played Golden tee...I won more skins!)

mmmmm. Spring Creek...just ate there last week.Good stuff if you like simple get-right-to-the-point type BBQ....which I do.

Just got back from memphis and ate at rendevouz man that dry rub was awsome and i'm not a dry rub type of guy. Friggin awsome.

Agreed! I think it's Thursday(?), Friday, and Saturday.

I used to teach at SimuFlite, and it's the only placed I would go.
