Anyone knowledgeable with Venezuelan cargo operations from a US certificated carrier?

Primary concerns:

1. Venezuelan authorities honoring / recipricating FAA licenses?

2. Pilot documentation, work visa, immunizations?

3. Local issues and things to avoid?

Thanks.

Well, not sure what ya mean...?

I flew to Venezuela yesterday as an employee of a US certified carrier, using the carriers a/c under a wet-lease contract with a South American flag carrier.

Uh, what is the question again..?

FAA licences? Sure that will work when ya fly for a US carrier.

Work visa? Nah, no crew visas required except to Brazil and France and probably a few others...(Saudi and China comes to mind)

Immunizations? Yes, there is some areas in Latin America on the list, but I have never had a problem or a concern.

Things to avoid?
Well, there is some whore houses in Bolivia and other places I try to avoid, at least when sober....:D

Some crews have been robbed in Caracas and Rio, but then again, that could happen in the wrong area of Miami and Los Angeles as well.

Overall South America is one of my favorite continents to work, with BA on top of the list....Good food, beatiful women.
