Looking for some ideas of things to do while there this month. We already are going to visit Hoover Dam, and do the typical things such as gamble and walk the strip and freemont. Any ideas of good places to eat or things to do while there would be great.

Thanks

If you want to meet the hottest chicks on the planet go to Rumjungle at the Mandalay Bay. It's a combination restaruant, bar and dance club...the place is off the hook...it's huge!!!...the women were wild and ready to party.

I just went to Vegas recently and it was really wild...I think more people are going to Vegas than ever before...it was packed! Go to citysearch.com, they have a great list of the best places to hang out.

What ever you do...don't go there w/ the family or bring your girlfriend or the wife. Go on a weekend because all the chicks from Cali drive and fly out to vegas to party on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. And if your girlfriend or wife ever goes to Vegas...beware!!!

JUST GOT BACK!!!!

I got back from my first trip to Vegas last nite. Was there from Thurs to Sun. TRUST ME ON THIS: The Hard Rock is where it's at. Check out the website and the live pool cam if you need proof. The most beutiful women on the face of the earth go there, and even hotter ones work there. Words do no justice to what my eyes have seen in the past few days, and I live in Miami and Palm Beach. The only club that I went to was Rain & Ghost Bar in the Palms: I'm talking fire balls shooting out of the roof, women in cages, fog, rain, ice, Jesus I don't know where I was. Ghost Bar on the top of the Palms is also good. The lines are 4 hrs long sometimes so if your a group of swingin dick$ like I was give the door guy a couple hundred and walk right in. During the day: HARD ROCK POOL; nothing beats playing blackjack in the pool!!! Venetian and Bellagio are also Pimp, but the 20's croud is at Hard Rock. You have to stay at the hotel to go to the pool though or its like 30 bucks or something. God I wanna go back.

DONT BRING YOUR WIFE OR GIRLFIEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Christ, a couple hundred to the door guy? You must either be a lousy stalker chasing some tail into a club like that or extremely desperate.

However, if you won this 200 bucks, than that's a diffrent story and I want to hear about it and how you made out and if you brought any souveniers home. STD's don't count.

Intrigue me, please

200 at the door is nothing man. I was a bachelor party group of 12. First of all the cover is 15-20 a head. But door guys don't think in terms of numbers like that, you just need to be slick and slip it to him and tell him who you're with, actually I think we gave 3 bills to him but dont really remember. Believe it or not Vegas is alot cheaper to party in than South Beach or NYC. Drinks are cheaper at the bars and clubs. Plus, all the dudes I was with are guys that grew up partying in South beach and NY every other nite so we're used to the prices. Our tab for 5 in Miami at 1 club with a private table the night before we left was 900, and for 12 of us drinking at the pool for 8 hours in Vegas on Saturday drinking more than you can possibly imagine was only 1300. And yes, I left town with more money in my pocket than I came with, no $hit. Craps and backarat baby, the best odds in town. Craps looks very complicated but if you study up before you go, (my father in my case), you see most of the bets are SUCKER bets and should not be played. Backarat is also very good odds.

I have spent some time on NYC and kinda got used to the 20 bucks a head at the LimeLight, but never had to slip 300 into greasy ego boys hand to binge drink and frolic with the lady folk.

However, the bachelor party sounds like it was a good time. Wish I was there since my bachelor party consisted of my buddy's getting me wasted, dressing me in drag and dropping me off at a gay bar in Miami. So much for a quality night out with friends.

Tootles.

The best club in Las Vegas is probably Rum Jungle in the Mandalay Bay, it is a must for hot chicks and a great time. I have been to Vegas many times and spent this past New Years there and it is by far one of the best clubs out there. The set up is pretty unique, great effects including the smoke system and lighting- you would probably enjoy.... This place gets pretty packed on the weekends so slipping the bouncer a $50.00 or so will probably get you a nice cut in line and I would hate to stand in those lines since they usually wrap around back and are L O N G.

The Palms is also nice (and new). Rain in the Desert and Ghost Bar there is lotsa fun with a pretty young crowd that always goes there.... I would also suggest that you check this out on the weekends or even during the week it gets quite packed.

The VooDoo Lounge at the Rio is also a must, great music and the view is absolutely spectacular from atop as well. Club Rio is also just as good usually and will always bring a nice crowd in.

Light at the Bellagio is also very nice.

The Beach Club, Studio 54, RA, Club C2K, Cleopatra's Barge, are decent but not nearly as good or nice as the above mentioned four. Atleast those are my preferences when out in LAS....

Restaurants-

1) Picasso and Charlie Palmer's Aureole are fabulous and well worth the money-

2) Delmonico Steakhouse

3) Pinot Brasserie

Venetian and Bellagio has great food which is pretty obvious-

as for sights are concerned- go out and explore .... ALOT to do there.....

Almost forgot... go to www.hardrockhotel.com. If you click on live cams and the pool cams, you can move the camera around with your mouse and even zoom in on some chick's rack. Probably the greatest site on the web.

Vegas, baby!

I head to Vegas about once a year, and it's always a good time! Here are some suggestions...

Places to eat: If you like the typical vegas buffets, try the one at Mandalay Bay--it's amazingly great food, plus the best desserts around! Also, the buffet at the Rio is pretty good too, something like 9 different areas of food. There's also a great french cafe in Paris, next to the shoppes.

Sights: I've mostly stayed on the strip, and there's tons of stuff to keep you busy there. Free shows at the Bellagio, Mirage, Treasure Island.....just walking around the new hotels like the Bellagio and the Venetian is awesome. But don't waste your time at the Stratosphere! Fremont street is fun too, especially if you like to gamble for really cheap (fifty cent roulette at the Four Queens Casino!!!).

Oh, Hoover Dam is beautiful at night--I suggest a sunset drive there so you can see it all lit up--super impressive!

Hmm, other things...There's the M&M Chocolate factory there (Ethel M's, I think) you can tour. Raging Waters water park is pretty cool. Then hit the clubs at night--Ra and the Rum Jungle are awesome.

Hope you have a great time--I always do!

But don't waste your time at the Stratosphere!

I highly disagree with that comment.... Top of the World Restaurant and Lounge there has some great award winning food that speaks for itself , and it is also highly regarded as one of the "best" by the Las Vegas Review-Journal year after year. It also gives you unparalleled and great views of Las Vegas as the restaurant revolves 360 degrees in one hour as you sit and eat and drink.:D :D

The Colorado Rack of Lamb and Chilean Sea Bass there is do die for. This is a very popular place and should be.....

The dolphins at the Mirage are nice.

There's a museum at the natural history center that's good for kids, as is the Lied Children's museum.

There's also a good butterfly display at the Bellagio. And of course the dancing waters.

I'm with CounterGirl on the Stratosphere. That place is lame. They may have a good restaurant and a sweet view, but it ends there.

I went on that stupid shoot your balls high into the sky ride up at the top (or whatever it's called). Now, I'm already pretty afraid of structural heights (a lot of us are...don't lie)...but, I swear I've never been so scared sh^tless in my whole life. It felt like that thing was going to shoot me right off the building.

Spending that $7 on 50 cent roulette at Four Queens would have been much more fun.

If you've got the cash, go see Cirque du Soleil's Mystere at Treasure Island. I heard "O" is pretty sweet, but haven't seen that one yet.

Well, to everyone's dissapointment, i am going with the wife. Actually though, i am kind of excited to take her there since she has never been, and i can't wait to get back myself. Clubs sound like fun, and hopefully the lines will be shorter since we are going Sun-Thur. I will definately have to spend some quality time on freemont st to make my $ last longer.

I appreciate all of the ideas and help that everyone has offered. If anyone can think of anything else, that would be great.

The best part of the vacation however is the fact that we get our youngin' out of our hair for a few weeks :p We really need a good break.

If you want to take a break from the casino action and you rent a car... Take a drive to Red Rock Canyon. 20 minutes drive from the stip and absolutely beautiful views. I-15 south to 215 west and follow it around to Charleston. Take a left and it's on the right hand side about 2 miles up the mountain.

You can also take I-15 north and about an hour up the road you can drive through the canyons into Utah. A very nice drive.

You can also take a day and go to Laughlin. The drive is only about an hour and a half. It's changed quite a bit in the last few years. New hotels and the colorado river is beautiful this time a year.

Vegas is home.. Plenty to do and see!

Blue Man Group at the Luxor is pretty sweet show. Try the Brewery Pub at Monte Carlo, kick a$$ beer and great bands. It's not as high profile as some of the other clubs mentioned on this thread but it is pretty fun. There is also a lounge in the middle of the Bellagio that overlooks the tables, it is amazing to sit there and people watch with a Corona or five. Lot's of pretty people.

I'll be in Vegas this Saturday night. Go to hotel checkin, get something to eat, got to bed, get up early, go run , go get breakfast and then leave. Nothing like the life of a pilot, especially when you get old.

Spending that $7 on 50 cent roulette at Four Queens would have been much more fun.

The Four Queens.?? come on.... :D :D

Stratosphere makes the Four Queens look silly, hands down...

>> obviously that ride is NOT for the weak at heart either....

Hey, don't be doggin' Four Queens. I spent a whole night there once playing roulette and came out 140$ ahead on $40 worth of 50 cent chips. Got drunk and they comped us breakfast. Those places are classic and your money lasts longer....granted they're not as mainstream.
