Van Nuys Aero Club?

Does any know anything about the VNY Aero Club? Is this a good place to rent a plane? Quality of aircraft, maintenance, prices, etc.?

I've been flying out of the Aeroclub for a while now. The planes aren't going to win any beauty contests, but they fly fine and you will not find any place cheaper to rent. Also its a pretty nice atmosphere. Even if you are not flying, there are always people hanging out talking shop.

Stay away from Aero Club. The place has been shut down numerous times by the FAA. They have incidents often, planes are not in good shape.
