kooool-aid.
My buddy over there says he's been nothing but disappointed at every turn since he's gotten there, and he normally is a pretty upbeat guy. He says they aren't getting anything industry standard and have been undercutting their pilot at every turn. Don't mean to jack your thread, but this is a pilot forum, and they don't seem too concerned about fair treatment.

Well is your buddy getting paid? When he signed up did they promise him something he's not getting? Seems to me if you're getting paid for sitting on your assets your only complaint should be how soft is the chair?

Would you care to comment further. I've heard a few things regarding seniority issues, is it what your friend is referring to? What are the other set backs?

So what you're saying if he's getting paid, that's the best he should expect? I think he's looking a little more to the future than how soft the chair is now. I'm sure he won't want me to speak specifics here, but something about allowing FOs on a Airbus at other companies take captain slots before him no matter how long after him they were hired and will be given better seniority when it happens. I might have that wrong, you might have to clear that one up. If that's the program, can't see how geting on now benefits him, since guys are going to be given upgrades who are technically junior, especially if now is the uncertain time and those FOs at other companies are just going to wait til the airline is running.

Well here's a flash for you. You accept a job at an airline without a certificate to fly. You must also accept all that goes with that! Now VA will fly under that name or another but it will fly!!!! With all thats going on there his QOL is way down on their list! If that upsets him/her well under the circumstances i have very little sympathy for anyone that is complaining about "its not like I thought it would be..." Please spare me the melodrama. Suck it up and move on .

As for FO's being passed over for more experienced Newbee FO's moving into PIC slots..soooo what! This is a start up !!! If he's complaning about that well boo-hoo welcome to reality! what are those late sim sessions cutting into his beach time in Miami?

Wow, thanks for putting that straight. I'll show him this and I'm sure you fit right in with why he doesn't like it over there. Thanks for the news flash as you put it, maybe next time I'll attack you personally, oh wait, that would mean I had no class either...

That's what I heard as well. I understand if a direct entry Captain keeps his seniority, but F/Os jumping in front of each others after upgrade is a little bit messed up. Hopefully they'll sort it out before too long...

Lampshade....my bad. Directed at someone else...sorry
