Which gives a better climb rate. V2 to V2+10 flaps 20 or Vse clean. Does any operator use a 400' Vfs call out after takeoff for flap retraction? Vfs is typically 6 knots lower than Vse. Is it better to retract the flaps at Vfs and 400' assuming you have not lost an engine or keep the flaps in longer. Any operatins have a call out for flap retraction? Im staing 400' as that is when the autothrottles come out or takeoff mode and auto speed goes to 200 kts.

You're worried about climb rate in a GV?

well not really but its more of a procedure thing...so i dont have to ask if someone wants the flaps up.

gear up flaps up...it doesnt always happen that quick though. Some like to leave them down for turns etc...

We use for a 400 foot callout for flap retraction. If we have an engine failure before 400 feet we leave everything as is and climb out at V2 as commanded by the FMS. We do not use Vfs for anything as it is not used in the 450 or 550. Only Vse. You will not get the 200 knot speed command until you move the flap handle. Hope that helps.

Why dont you read the chapter on aircraft certification in your flight manual. Speeds and altitudes for single engine ops/ flap retraction will be explained....

in a GV there is no minimum speed noted for flap retraction...thats why im asking what people generally do...all the book says is gear up flaps up...
