I was in Philly a few days ago and while waiting our turn for takeoff I saw and heard a USAirways Express EMB 170 using the USAir callsign.

someone splain?

MidAtlantic Airways, the operator of the US Airways Express E170 fleet, operates under the US Airways mainline certificate and thus shares the ATC callsign. The crews of MAA are composed strictly of furloughed US Airways mainline pilots and flight attendants.
