Does usairways still require a major training event in the past 5 years to be considered for employment?

Asked a CP a month ago, they upped it to 7 or 8 yrs, can't remember which one. Also mentioned that it is by no means a deal breaker, just helps you, same as if you were a woman. Huh? Who said that??
