Very Sad. Sounds like he was just trying to enjoy his RON.

He was a great guy and will be greatly missed around here.

Ted was a great guy to fly with and he'll be sorely missed. My heart goes out to his wife and son. Godspeed buddy.

wonder what happened?

I used to fly Navy rescue helicopters over that area. The water is very dangerous during certain events (storms, swells, etc). Not to mention an undercurrent bordering on 6 to 8 knots. I think in three years there we "lost" a swimmer every 4 to 5 months or so. It happens very fast there. We got there (swimmer in the water) within 5 minutes of a distress call once....we saved one and lost one. The ultimate bittersweet day.

My prayers go out to his family.......

Probably drowned. On another message board people who've snorkeled that same area say the currents are nasty past a certain point. Real easy to get carried offshore and panic. Terrible tragedy.

My condolances to his family, friends and co-workers.

Very, very sad. :(

Here is posted a tragic incident involving one of our brother aviators who tragically lost his life, and an idiot like 800Dog has to interject his homosexual tendencies refferencing TWA DUDE and a mountain bike boyfriend in Hawaii and 737 Pylt and WSurf shrug it off with LMFAO. You people are not right!!

I didn't know Ted, but I heard he was an awesome person, and to make comments about somebody else on this serious thread shows your lack of compassion and professionalism.

As a lurker on this board and never a poster, I urge you two idiots to retract your statements and apologize to Ted and his family for your insensitive statements. You never know if you'll not return from your trip and have some dickhead comment about you and your skeletons in your closet only to find that you're six feet under and your laundry is dirtier than theirs!!
