Are they hiring on the West side?
We'll know after our vacancy bid closes in a couple of days. We expect there will be newhires/recalls to the West as soon as September. Are they hiring on the West side?
Yes, 60 new hires. Per the transition agreement they have to offer the furloughed Easties first shot. They're bypassing so rapidly hiring off the street should occur shortly.
Guy I know who was a America West poolie is starting very soon on the E-190. Just wondering where he will be based? How long is the seat lock? Is he considered a East guy now or a West Guy or neither? I know he wants PHX or LAS as soon as he can do it so does that change things?
Thanks.

Talked to chief pilot a couple days ago...Need 60 bodies on the west as of yesterday.... still recalling 150 on the east. There are only 500 left on the list. ten percnt recall acceptance rate. They are taking resumes now for hiring next month to both sides all aircraft. They anticipate on top of the 150 and 60 hiring at least 300 next year. With a lot of that going west.
East can only delay contract so long before the company starts growing the west side. Our on time performance is a lot better. So keep on flying slow for less pay easties. Enjoy your contract till 2011. We dont give a sh**!
No flame intended here but the most significant growth is on the East. We will have 25 E190s by 4Q08 not to mention all the A-340s and 330s for the planned European expansion.
I do hope this mess gets straightened out soon so we can all move forward.
Where did you hear that?

LD, do you know what the firm order number is on the E-190? What about options and do you think we will get more than the current firm order?
Thanks
So he will be an East side guy on the 190 with a seat lock? Did not get an answer to that one? Can he bid over to the West side after a period of time or is that where the combined contract / list comes into play? Also assuming the list stands where does he slot in. Somewhere slightly behind "Dave"?
why would they build up the west when they have cheaper labor in the east?Talked to chief pilot a couple days ago...Need 60 bodies on the west as of yesterday.... still recalling 150 on the east. I believe the firm order is for 57 and I do think we will see them all. I also think the company will exercise their options.
I also think there is a good chance we will see the E190 in PHX someday IMHO. You could reach a lot of markets out of PHX to the west coast.
A second sim would most certainaly go to the PHX Training Center, there is just no room in CLT.

Just curious. What's the latest with the A340's.?Heard from a checkairman the company did not like the FAA requiring a full initial school for the 340 instead of a diff trng.
Don't know where you got your information but the A-340 only requires a 5 day transition if you are current on the A-330.
Maybe it was from a West Check Airman who is dreaming about flying to China!
That's a joke boyz!
But then again, I have been out of the loop and don't work for US... though I would like to.
Damn dude
Set your goals higher. This place is pretty much a dump, has always been and will always be. You too can be a 20 year FO.
