Hi!

WMUSIGPI:
USA Jet only has one 121 (supplemental-this is how it's different than 121 scheduled) certificate. They have a waiver to operate the Falcons -135. All the manuals/training/MX, etc. is 121 for both airframes.

All the days off, for both Falcon and -9 are hard days off. If you're on the road with days off coming up, USA Jet will airline you out to get you your days off.

Any chance those 11 days off per month are all in a row... to make for an easier commute? I'm probably dreaming right?

yea we have 10 days blocks for commuters, but if businessis slow you may spend 18 days in a row sitting in your crashpad in YIP.

Military Drivers,
Don't waste you're time flying for an on demand freight/px operator. Your family life will suffer. If your waiting on your 2nd interview w/ swa try the fractionals, or corporate. You will work hard, but at least you will be in bed every night. You wont have to live in the tropical paridise called yip.

Actually Hammer there probably few pilots who spend as much time with their families as USA Jet pilots. This is assuming that do not commute. The average USA Jet pilot is gone from home 132 hours per month. That is 5.5 days. If you want to pick up an extra $30K/yr, you are gone from home 176 hours per month less than 7.5 days per month.

I saw one of the USA jets in TCL today. That Falcon looked like she'd seen better days. As a former freight dog I know that alot of the ships are like the Millenium Falcon that Han Solo flew in Star Wars..."She may not look like much kid, but she's got it where it counts".

Ah! Those old freight dogs! If only they could talk, what stories they would tell! Brings back memories...

Hi!

USAJet is on the JS list at NWA/USAir/Spirit. They will also be in CASS soon.

I'm sure I'm not in your league, but I have self annoited myself as an expert on whether a mil pilot should go to an on demand cargo/pax operation. I would say that a pilot seperating from the military would be better served by going to SWA, or if they need to build the pic time go to a frac, if they need ttl time go to a regional. It would be a better fit. I flew cargo for a couple of years and I wouldn't recommend it from anyone coming out of the military. I have receive a lot of experience in those 350 hrs, dope!

Not gifted I guess

Hammer fortunately many military pilots are not a gifted as you with your special insite and do not share your views. The mil guys make up about 25% of our pilots. They come for a variety of reasons, where they want to live, to get current again, to get jet time, etc. They leave and used to go to places like United, FedEx, Alaska, etc. Their move to USA Jet was the right move for them at the time of the move.

is this a family help site or what? fly some freight baby...

BTW Hammer there are no pilots who spend more time at home than YIP based USA Jet pilots, gone an average of 5.5 days per month.

After 15000 hrs and all you have is an ATP and FE. Just sit back and work the radio.

So military guys should go to JUS as DA20 First Officers, be on call in a crash pad 24/7 and not build any time ("gone 5.5 days a month" means NO flying in the on demand realm). What would be the point of that?

Someone else said it earlier, you would be better off going to a regional with a much more structured environment and more consistent flying. I have heard some crazy shizzle about KYIP.

Mil pilots not a smart as Super

To each his won, maybe most mil pilots are not a gifted as you when it comes to making job choices. You should start a seminar and complete with Kit. Again super, 1200 hour military helo pilots don't have a lot of options, because they don't have fixed wing time. Furloughed ex mil DAL, NWA, and UAL pilots who live in the YIP area think it is a better deal than commuting Besides why would some one want to work for $20K/yr at a regional, when they could make $40K their first year at YIP? Plus a chance of flying the DC-9 or making DA-20 Capt their firstyear.

^^^^^...pilotyip, I see you edited out the little blurb about my piloting skills. I'm sure you are Gods Gift to Aviation.

....By the way...

If you could ever produce a sentence that was coherent spelling wise maybe you wouldn't have a communication gap with everyone.
