I have to ask the east side just one simple question.

During the arbitation hearings, did the MEC and MC poll (pole!) the constituents after Nic stongly advised them that DOH was DOA, or did they not ask their constituency for a plan B if plan A did not work?

If the MEC and MC did not ask the people they represented if they would like to have input for an alternate solution other than DOH, then they did a grave injustice to the constituency!!

So, to reiterate on the first question, did the MEC and MC act on their own or did they involve the entire pilot group to present a case to Nic?

This is a serious question, because now that the list is final, legal, and binding, at some point in time, "we're all going to have to get along" as the infamous Rodney King once said.

All the Westies wanted from the announcement of this merger, what was fair and equitable. The Easties (from all the rumblings I've heard) wanted nothing but DOH, which was far from fair and equitable.

Only USAir people need reply to this thread. If your Daddy or Brother or Sister worked there and were affected by this award, please do not respond.

What say you........Usair East??????

No ending epiogue, no quotes or cutesie goodbyes like most of the posters here who like to bore us with their comical endings and rhetorical BS.

Captairbusbb...................Still.

I said this on another thread...I see both sides of the coin. It's perspective on what you consider fair. I'm a '99 hire and expected that the'99 group to get stapled, but not the folks that were hired as early as '88 that also got stapled. I will say that for as many grumblings that I've read on this board from the east, I have read 2x as many bravado statements from the west. You guys were not the knights in shining armour. It was put together by a third party. Not to mention that our attrition rate exceeds yours by far...something that the west will be enjoying at the expense of the east. There you have it. No smart a$$ reply even! You are right, eventually we'll have to get our sides together and get a livable contract. I can't speak on the east's strategy during the hearings. I was'nt involved.

I hope everyone enjoys their Memorial day weekend and take time to remember those who gave their lives for our freedom.

It would seem that no one over there has actually read the merger policy. Longevity is not a tenet of merger policy. If you can understand why you were placed where you were, why is it hard for you to understand that the 88 hire who also did not bring a job to the "Seniority" merge (not longevity) and was placed with others that did not bring a job to the table.

Attrition: Also not a tenet of merger policy. You already have enjoyed 2 years and counting of your own attrition. Absent the merger, by most accounts you would have only a week or two more of attrition to enjoy. While you may say this is not true. Your merger committee tried vainly to prove it to no avail. Any attrition that occurs in relation to east pilots is occurring "Because" of the merger.

Ask your leadership why all the sudden now they want to talk about Fences or even getting a do over. When just a few months ago after the Arbitrator as much as pronounced DOH as DOA that your leadership did not come up with a different strategy to achieve what you now are willing to talk about.
Instead your leadership stood on the DOH demand including placing CEL pilots on the new list above AWA pilots who had actually been hired by one of the merging airlines.

Informed west pilots know that there was no descision made to come save anyone. About 99% of us would rather have gone it alone as opposed to what we have to deal with now.

The Bravado you speak of and find offensive is probably just a response to the offensive Unflippinbelievable sense of entitlement that the east guys seem to have. Your team mates are advocating a burn the house down attitude complete with web sites set up to help orchestrate such. Why.............because they didn't get their way essentially stapling 3/4's of our pilots to the bottom. How can you defend that??
