Back in the late 90's the quickest way to offend someone was to offer to help him get on at AWA.

Late 90's? I think this still holds true today. Not too many people dream to join AWA. Today it's WN, UPS, FDX, and possibly DAL and CAL.
You apply to AWA because you get turned down by WN.

I didn't mean to imply that it didn't still hold true. I only used the late 90s era because that was the last time I offended any of my friends in such a low down, crass manner, thats all.

I never got turned down by SWA, of course its kinda hard to get turned down there when you have never applied.

It was funny to listen to them babble on "well...but...you know....I'm shootin for.... already got my stuff in at.....blah blah blah." I couldn't help but think of Cousin Eddy of the Vacation movies explaining to Clark how his relative, unemployed for the last 6 years, was holding out for a management position.

Cousin Eddy is my hero!

"All I know Walt is my teeth have never been whiter, and my garden's spittin' out fifty pound tomatoes!"

You have 3000 hours and spew crud like this?

Wait until you've been through BK's, furloughs, mergers, job losses, cross country moves, a dozen jobs, etc...

Then come on here and tell us where we should apply and talk about being choosy.

Hi everyone,

All jokes aside, what does it take to get an interview with US. I know they have their problems, but so do all the other majors. It sounds better than being at the regionals another 35 years. I'm from NC so I'd really like to work at US and be based in CLT. I have my app in but haven't heard anything. I have 2 types, 7000tt, 2700tpic, no violations etc...

Get someone to do a LOR for you and come in with a good attitude. Don't pay any attention to the furloughs, they were LET GO from their previous carrier and expected to climb the ladder ahead of us who have been flying the line while they sat and watched!!

This too as well as them shall pass.

That is awfully crass considering these pilots that "sat and watched while you flew the line", were flying the line at the same airline while you were in grade school.
You got yours, there are thousands below you, why dont you cut them a break and quit sticking needles in their eyes.

Education time for FR8mastr. Young man I was born in the 60's so trust me when I tell you this if I were in grade school so were they!!! Know thy person prior to speaking or typing;)

Second I didn't stick a thing in their eyes they allowed their dumb azz mec to do that. We followed the rules and played their game now they seek to go in to overtime but the game is over.

Well judging by your flight time, they were flying prior to your entering the field.
And yes you are sticking needles. You know damn well how much losing any hope of a carreer means to a pilot. Give these poor bastards a break will you? You are correct, it is over so what is the point of rubbing it in? someday you will have to fly with some of these guys

It is over, so WHAT'S THE POINT OF TRYING TO CHANGE THE RESULT.

The hypocrisy is overwhelming.

Pathetic that you feel you can call WD on rubbing it in given what the East is trying to do right now.

Maybe not. The east/west thing could all be moot. If United and Usairways merge when the big merger dance begins, both the east and the west pilots will be jerkin gear for a loooong time.

My personal opinion is, it is over. I think it is wrong, but over. rubbing it in to individuals is different from official MEC actions.

The only way some of you on the west will ever see the big picture of seniority is when we merge with Vigin or any other upstart. Then you will have a whole airline worth of Captains that have been flying for 1 or two years using the West argument about how it's all about career expectations and such. If you can tell me then how it is ok for these 2 year Captains to be senior to your 10-15 year captains, I'll eat my hat. In the meanwhile as pilots we just have to agree to disagree, let the MEC's fight it out and remember we have to fly together, so try and keep it civil.

I'm always civil and professional when on duty. That will not change.

How about we agree that I'm right and you're wrong, though. Agreeing to disagree implies your position holds weight - it doesn't - it's a pathetic, childish attempt to cause direct harm to the West pilots. It has failed miserably at every stage and will continue to do so.

I will never apologize for getting a fair shake in the integration...no furloughed pilot deserved to be slotted above a junior West pilot.

I will never forget what you guys are trying to pull here...We are not rubbing it in. We are trying to move forward as one group.

Bytheway, the LOS with fences is DOH in disguise. It was an insulting proposal that clearly shows where the proverbial chip on the shoulder lays.

So lets see your idea of the high road is... Calling me a pathetic child with no idea of what is right and wrong. But that is ok because you did it prior to the trip we are flying together. But even though I am a pathetic child, you are willing to move foward as a group. Nice. Thank you for making my point. See you on line.
