I guess nobody is surprised. This sucks, I'm waiting for a class date. Could be waiting for a while...

US Airways plans to cut more flights than originally planned this year due to stubbornly high fuel prices.
The Tempe-based airline said Friday that it will reduce seat capacity by 3 to 4 percent in the second half of the year, vs. earlier forecasts of a 1.5 percent decline. It plans to remove three Boeing 737s from service in August but has not determined specific flight cuts.
The airline said travel demand remains strong but that oil prices in the $100 a barrel range dictate the move. All major airlines are taking a look at their schedules to pare unprofitable flying.
US Airways planes were more packed in March than a year ago. The Tempe airline reported a load factor, or percentage of seats filled with paying passengers, of 84.5 percent, up 2.1 points from a year ago as a slight decline in passenger traffic was more than offset by a 2.7 percent decline in seat capacity.

Don't give up hope just yet Attacker. We're getting pretty thin staffed over on the west side. They might pull down some more LAS flying and that'll bring some guys back to PHX but so far there really hasn't been too much talk about cutting the forecast pilot numbers needed this year. Every day there looking for people to pick up trips, we call them "red flags" not sure what they call them on the east. In fact the capt I just flew with said he actually heard of a new vacancy bid coming out soon. WooHoo! maybe I can finally get off reserve this year. Good luck to ya!

I think those 737's were already planned with replacement airbus and e190 equip-I'm just the new guy, so I might be wrong......

Heard from a decent source that there was a short freeze on interviews until pool is drained a little. Interviews resuming later his month for 190 staffing and some west openings. Still accepting LORs from pilots.

I had around 6300TT when I interviewed. Not sure what it is now. Was in Jan. class and junior lineholder for May should be near the senior guy in my class, so things are moving fast as of now. Current 190 fo rsv coverage is extremely minimal this week for example. Keeping my fingers crossed for a summer line!

good luck

Not E-Man but was in the class ahead of him.
Yes the CLT base was announced with the latest system bid for July. Looks like they are taking a large chunk of the PHL flying down there as well. Not a surprise though as most trips go through CLT.

How much time are new hires getting on with?

I got hired in February with 4500TT and 1250 PIC turbine. I think this is still on the low end of qualified, but I don't really know.
